  1. Add Indoor Plants

Indoor plants are a great way of making your bathroom more relaxing as they add more oxygen into the air and as a result of this, they help reduce fatigue, anxiety, and stress levels.

Indoor plants are also a great addition to your bathroom because they come in many sizes, which is great as it doesn’t matter how big your room is, you can still manage to fit some plants in your bathroom.

Smaller plants can be used in smaller bathrooms and can look great on your shelves or window ledges. Bigger plants can then be used to stand on the floor to make a statement.

You do have to be careful when adding plants indoors though as not all plants like humidity and small levels of natural sunlight. If you stick any plant in there they will more than likely day within a week or two.

If you want to add an indoor plant to your bathroom that can handle low levels of natural light and high levels of humidity you should consider plants like orchids, aloe vera, and bamboo.

  1. Add a Spa Bath

A hot bath is one of the best ways to sit back and relax in my opinion, but if you want to make your home feel like a spa you should add a spa bath to your home. Spa baths are very relaxing and will make you want to stay in the tub for longer.

Spa baths usually have either 6 or 12 jets that shoot out air which creates bubbles under the water. These bubbles then hit your muscles and give them a massage effect. A spa bath is similar to a jacuzzi that you may find in the gym, just on a smaller and more affordable level.

If you consider adding a spa bath to your home you will need to consult with a local plumber to see if you have enough space in your bathroom to fit these spa baths as they can be a little larger than a normal one.

  1. Declutter the Room

If you want a spa-style bathroom in your home you are going to need to clear the clutter in your home. Nothing quite kills a relaxing environment like clutter does so be sure to clean it all up.

When it comes to clutter you have a few options which you could use. Firstly you could round up everything that gets little use and throw it in the bin or you could add more storage space through the use of wicker baskets and wooden crates.

The second option of wicker baskets and wooden crates works in my opinion because they are in keeping with the spa-style theme.

  1. Paint Your Walls Neutral

If you want to bring the spa to your home you are going to need to keep your bathroom neutral and natural. Bright walls and bright tiles need to be ditched for simple paint and tiles.

When painting the walls try to keep to colours like whites and beige. Neutral colours trick the eye into relaxing whereas bright colours will stimulate our brain.

When considering your tile choices you should look at light grey’s which are all the rage in commercial spas as they absorb water and have a natural look to them.

If you have a larger budget you could also consider marble and natural stone finishes.

  1. Use Luxury Cotton

Finally, the last piece of the puzzle to bringing the spa to your home is to invest in luxury cotton items like towels, flannels, and bathrobes.

Your luxury cotton towels will more than likely be on show in your room so they have a dual function of looking good and being practical too. The same can be said about luxury bathrobes.

Adding a luxury bathrobe to your home is an affordable tip that makes you feel a lot more relaxed. Just make sure to get a bathrobe that can absorb water.
