How is a Front Door Constructed?

Variant 1: Open the Front Door with A Card

Probably the most elegant and easiest way to open a front door. Each of us has countless cards, ID cards, etc. in our wallets.

These cards can be used to easily open a locked door again. All you have to do for it:

• You can try to press the snapper directly with the card and open the front door in this way (see video). If that doesn’t work:
• Insert the card into the gap between the door and the door frame above the door handle. Then move the card down until you encounter resistance: this is the snapper.
• Once the card is on the latch, all you have to do is push the card down hard enough and the door will open.

With this variant, it should be noted that the card can be easily damaged in the process. So it is best to use cards that can scratch without causing problems (so do not use a debit card or the like!). Otherwise, this variant is always worth a try, and in some cases, you can open the locked front door in a few minutes.

Should the door not open?

It can be very difficult to open the door, especially at the beginning. If it doesn’t work, try increasing the pressure on the gate. Depending on the door, you need a lot of strength to open it! You also have to push the card deep into the gap so that you can press the latch down.

If the card is only halfway through the crack, you will most likely not be able to open the front door.

Variation 2: The Metal or The Wire

For this variant, you need a piece of wire or metal that you have to bend into shape first. It doesn’t matter which wire you use, it should just be strong enough; you can use the peg from a tent, for example.

Before you can start opening the front door, you must first bend the wire. You have to bend one of the ends at a 90 ° angle so that an “L” is created. You then insert this wire over the door handle into the gap between the door frame and the door.

Then you go down with the wire until you feel resistance. This is the snap, so you can now try twisting the wire down so that the door opens.

This variant takes a bit of time and practice, but you can open almost all doors with it.

Option 3: Open the Front Door with A Plastic Bottle

With this variant, you use a plastic bottle to open the front door. All you need is a plastic bottle and a pair of scissors or a knife. With this, you cut off the head and the bottom of the bottle, you only need a plastic strip, which should be approx. 15 to 20 cm long and approx. 5 to 10 cm wide. You can round off the corners.

You can now penetrate the gap between the door and the doorknob and try to press down the latch on the front door. The video shows how you can cut the bottle and open the front door.

Conclusion

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what item is used and pulls down the latch on the door. It’s just a matter of making it narrow enough to fit into the gap between the door and the door frame, but still strong enough not to kink or break.

But no matter which method you try, it will normally take several minutes before you are successful and can open the front door. So if you stand in front of a locked front door and can’t get in, then be patient, at some point you will be able to open the front door!
