What Exactly is Januvia?

Januvia is a medication that needs to be prescribed that helps people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus manage their conditions. Januvia can also be taken alone or in combination with other drugs.

Januvia is related to the Dipeptidyl Peptidase-IV Inhibitors class of anti-diabetics. Januvia’s safety profile and health effects in children are unknown.

Definition

Sitagliptin phosphate, an orally active inhibitor of the dipeptidyl peptidase4 (DPP-4) enzyme, is identified in JANUVIA Tablets.

In addition to sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate, JANUVIA tablets also contain:

  • Microcrystalline cellulose.
  • Anhydrous dibasic calcium phosphate.
  • Sodium stearyl fumarate.
  • A combination of inactive ingredients.

Inactive ingredients in the coating material include polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide, and yellow iron oxide.

Sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate is a crystalline, non-hygroscopic powder that is white to off-white. The soluble forms of N, N-dimethyl formamide, and water are:

  • Methanol and N, N-dimethyl formamide.
  • The partially soluble forms of ethanol, acetone, and acetonitrile.
  • The insoluble forms of isopropyl acetate and isopropanol.

7-[(3R)-3-amino-1-oxo-4-(2,4,5trifluorophenyl)butyl] is the chemical name for sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate. -5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3-(trifluoromethyl) Monohydrate of -1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-a]pyrazine phosphate (1:1). C16H15F6N5O•H3PO4•H2O is the scientific formula, and the molecular mass is 523.32.

What is the Purpose of Januvia?

One’s blood sugar levels are too high if one possesses type 2 diabetes. It is due to the fact that the insulin hormone your body tends to produce naturally somehow doesn’t function as much as it should. (Insulin is being used by one’s body to reduce blood sugar levels.)

Januvia inhibits the suppression of incretin hormones by blocking a protein in your body. These hormones affect your pancreas and stimulate it to produce and release insulin, which helps you control your blood sugar levels.

In addition, whenever the protein is tried to block. These more active incretin hormones are capable of helping control blood sugar levels.

Is Januvia Chewable Crushable?

Januvia tablets should not be chewed or crushed. It would be best if you instead gulped down them fully. Consult your doctor or healthcare professional if you’re having trouble consuming Januvia tablets entirely.
