If you live in an apartment, condo, or small house, you may think that having outdoor furniture is out of the question. You may even lack the backyard space to put a chair or table. However, this doesn’t have to be the case.

With a little creativity and planning, you can easily find nice outdoor furniture for your apartment, condo, or small home. I was recently looking for boulevard outdoor furniture at James Said for a small patio area in front of our townhouse.

The area is only about 10 feet long by 5 feet wide and is partially enclosed by a low wall that was built to hold back soil for plantings. I wanted to bring some more comfortable seating into the space but knew the sectional sofa had to be quite small to fit in the area.

I found an affordable option at Ikea (of course) but it would not have fit with the style or decor of my home’s exterior. I kept searching and eventually discovered that Lowe’s Home Improvement store has a variety of affordable options as well as some higher-end options.

My search was made much easier because I knew approximately how many pieces I needed, how much space I had to work with, and what my budget would allow me to spend on it.

1. Outdoor Furniture Sets

Outdoor furniture sets are great options if you like to spend time outside but don’t want to worry about putting a bunch of different pieces together. The downside to these sets is that they can be expensive and overwhelming for smaller spaces.

If you feel furniture sets are too much for your space, consider downsizing by purchasing individual pieces instead of the full set. This can help save you some money too!

2. Patio Dining Tables

Want a simple dining table for two outdoors? Consider using a small patio dining table on your balcony or in your yard. These tables are usually made with lighter materials such as plastic and metal so they’re easier to move around with than traditional dining tables.

There are also tons of options when it comes to choosing a patio dining table so you’re sure to find one that works well with any style of home decor.

3. Sofa With Pull-Out Bed

Instead of just a sofa, consider one that has a pull-out bed. This way, you can have seating for six people (three on each side) and still be able to convert it into a bed if you need it.

4. Outdoor Sectional

Another idea is an outdoor sectional. Unlike regular sofas, they’re designed specifically for outside use and come with all-weather cushions and frames made of materials such as aluminum, teak, rattan, and more. They also come in different shapes to fit the size of your outdoor area.

5. Balcony Bar Set

If you want something more unique but don’t have much space for seating, consider a balcony bar set. It includes two stools along with a table that’s perfect for setting drinks down next to the grill or cooking area.

6. Go for a Small Table and Chairs

Even if your patio is just a balcony, you can still enjoy the luxury of an outdoor dining table and chairs. But instead of a large table that can take up half of your space, opt for a smaller bistro-style table and two chairs.

These fit nicely into most small spaces and help create an intimate atmosphere while still allowing you to enjoy the outdoors. If you want to go with four chairs, look at options that are stackable or foldable to store them when not in use.
