Investing in an industrial refrigeration vessel is an excellent option if you want to increase efficiency and save money in your industrial process.

Industrial refrigeration vessels are an essential piece of equipment for many industrial processes, as they allow for precise, effective cooling and storage of refrigerant liquids and gases.

With the right vessel, you can maximize your industrial process and reduce costs, ensuring your business runs smoothly and efficiently. Keep reading to learn more.

What Are Intercoolers?

Intercoolers are one of the most critical components of industrial refrigeration systems. An intercooler is designed to reduce the temperature of a refrigerant as it passes through a compressor, allowing it to be more efficiently used in a system.

This is important because it reduces the energy needed to run the system and helps maintain the desired temperature. During the compression process, the temperature of the refrigerant is increased. This can be problematic for the system, as the higher temperatures can cause the refrigerant to be less efficient.

An intercooler is placed in between the compressor and the condenser. As the refrigerant is compressed, it passes through the intercooler, which cools it off before it enters the condenser.

This lowers the temperature of the refrigerant, making it more efficient and putting less strain on the system. This vessel helps reduce power consumption in the high-stage compressor by cooling vaporized refrigerant with water from a cooling tower.

Industrial refrigeration systems rely heavily on intercoolers to ensure they operate efficiently.

By reducing the temperature of the refrigerant, intercoolers help reduce the strain on the system, allowing it to perform at its peak efficiency. Industrial refrigeration systems need to have an efficient intercooler to ensure that the system is running at its best.

What Are Surge Drums?

A surge drum is an essential component of many refrigeration systems. It’s a vessel used for circulation and liquid and vapor separation of refrigerant in gravity-fed evaporators and is dedicated solely to the operation of the evaporators.

Surge drums regulate the amount of refrigerant entering the evaporator, ensuring the evaporator’s efficient and safe operation.

Surge drums are typically constructed from steel or aluminum and must meet the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) requirements and the International Institute of Refrigeration Standards (IIAR). In addition, the drum must be inspected, tested, and maintained according to the applicable standards.

A surge drum is an essential component of an industrial refrigeration system and ensures evaporators’ efficient and safe operation.

What Are Ammonia Receivers?

Ammonia recirculation is a process used in industrial refrigeration systems to maintain a consistent temperature while using less energy. It involves taking a liquid ammonia refrigerant from an accumulator and pumping it to the evaporators.

The liquid is pushed at a pressure higher than the suction pressure and a rate higher than the evaporation rate. This helps to ensure the liquid is evenly distributed throughout the system and that the temperature is kept consistent.

Once the liquid has been pumped into the evaporators, the liquid and vapor return to the suction accumulator.

At this point, the liquid is separated from the vapor and recirculated back to the evaporator. This is done with the help of a make-up liquid supply. The dry suction gas is then sent to the compressor.

The purpose of using ammonia recirculation in industrial refrigeration systems is to help increase the system’s efficiency. Maintaining a consistent temperature allows the system to run smoother and use less energy. This can result in significant cost savings for the business.

In addition to cost savings, ammonia recirculation can also help to improve the safety of the system. Liquid ammonia is highly corrosive and can cause damage to the system if not properly handled. By recirculating the ammonia, the risk of corrosion is decreased, and the system is kept safe.

If you’re considering using ammonia recirculation in your industrial refrigeration system, it’s important to consult a professional at Genemco to ensure you find the perfect vessel for your needs.

Overall, refrigeration vessels are essential pieces of equipment in industrial settings. By understanding the different types of refrigeration vessels available, businesses can decide which type is best for their needs.
