How to Prepare Soil for Vegetable Garden?

The nutrition of soils depends on their sufficient nourishment and moisture. To hold the moisture, a smart mixture of fresh soil with organic matter is must needed.

According to GroundInsider.Com, Silty soils are more fertile for a productive vegetable garden than sandy and slit soil. Aged manure, green manures, and mulch are the best ways to prepare the soil properly.

1. Water Sufficiency

Soil and plants both need water and healthy soil needs to have about twenty-five percent water. The excess amount of water is harmful to soil and plants also.

The organic matter of the soil can hold water and the plants can use water as their need.

2. Air Circulation

Air circulation through soil is much essential for plants. Air can hold atmospheric nitrogen ant it is converted into a most important form for all plants that are most benefited.

3. Organic Elements

 The compost and organic materials generally help to retain the moisture of the soil. They improve the health of the soil and also improve soil quality.

4. Fertilization

 Fertilization plays a beneficial role to improve soil health. Liquid and dry fertilizer can give nutrients to all soils. Organic fertilizers are more very beneficial for the soils than additional synthetic fertilizers.

5. Covering Crops

A crop covering is another important technique to improve soil health. It is a temporary planting and it can protect the soil from strong wind and different erosion.
