Thankfully, we have all of the best moving tips for you, so keep reading!

Set a Budget

You’ll have to set a budget first before you can hire movers, find hotel rooms, or even flights.

If you hire a moving company, to help transport all of your stuff, oftentimes you can call them and ask for a quote.

They’ll ask you how much stuff you own, and they’ll give you a price tag based on your weight, how far you’re moving, or even how long they think it will take.

Find a Moving Company

Once you’ve figured out how much you can afford a moving company, you’ll have to figure out how to hire movers.

Moving.com has a wide network of different moving companies that are likely near you. However, you should still check to make sure that they’re licensed and insured before you hire them.

Create a Master List

There will be a lot of things to keep in mind when you’re planning a move, so it can help to create a notebook that has everything in it.

If you give yourself a list of things to check off, you’ll be more organized and less likely to forget anything.

While you’re making your list, make sure that you include the deadlines as well so that you aren’t scrambling last minute for anything.

Find Packing Supplies

Unless you pay extra, movers don’t typically pack your things for you, so you’ll have to find some packing supplies.

If you’re on a tight budget, thankfully they’re not too difficult to find. You can go to your local grocery store and ask if they have any boxes that are leftover. Sometimes Uhaul has some as well.

You can also go on Facebook Marketplace to see if anyone is trying to get rid of old boxes after their move!

Change Addresses

Unless you want to lose all of your mail, make sure that you change your address as well.

You can do this for a small fee with the USPS, and they’ll forward all of your mail to your new address.

However, to make sure that you always get your mail, change your address with your bank, insurance, health care, and anything else important.

Learn More About How to Plan a Move

These are only a few things to consider when learning how to plan a move, but there are many more things to keep in mind!

We know that figuring out how to move to a new house can be stressful and overwhelming, but we’re here to help you out.
