The security that a gated community provides is just too hard for non-gated communities to compete with.

Beyond needing a keycard to access, gated communities often have security or surveillance 24/7 at the entrance. You’ll never have to wonder about the mischief that can happen at night.

5 Winning Reasons to Build a New House in a Gated Community

Here are five reasons why you should build a new house in a gated community.

1. Security

The most beneficial reason for being in gated communities is the security that they often provide. They don’t just keep people out, they often help keep track of anyone that comes in, whether it be neighbor or guest.

A private community doesn’t have to worry about solicitors either . They are often not allowed on the premises.

2. Sense of Community

Being in a secure community also allows for a sense of bonding with neighbors. These communities often have children, so it is easy to set up playdates or let them run around outside without worry.

Because there is often a communal hangout spot, it also allows for neighborhood parties. You can take advantage of all the amenities that the community often offers.

3. Home Standards

Because of HOAs, there are often standards to be met within the community. You don’t have to worry about someone else bringing down the property value of your home. No issues if someone’s grass gets too tall.

This does come with a caveat, as this could limit your ability to customize the house too much. Try to find a community where customization is open, such as getting a pool or allowing you to paint the outside of the house whatever color you choose.

4. Your Forever Home

By building your home, you’re allowing yourself to have a forever home. Between the community and security, it is a great place to set down roots, have kids, and even grow old in the house.

You’ll never have to worry about unruly neighbors moving in and out and noise should be kept to a minimum.

5. Easy Resell Potential

A secure gated community also comes with the benefit of being highly sought after. Once there are no more homes to be built within the community, your property value often skyrockets.

This is due to there being a scarcity of houses being available at any given time in the community.

If you find a job in another state, be sure to already have living arrangements set up before you set the house for sale. Because it won’t last long on the market once it is up there.

A Gated Community Simply Makes Sense

At the end of the day, a gated community makes sense for those that are ready to settle down. Between the privacy and security, there is little reason to not like living in a gated community.
