Window washers are an essential part of our community. They clean the windows so we can see out clearly, and they do it in a way that is both fast and efficient.

Their work not only improves our environment aesthetically but also promotes safety by keeping us from having to walk into glass doors or bumping our heads on window sills when we’re trying to look outside.

All That You Need to Know About Window Washers

Have you ever thought about what it takes to be a window washer? This blog breaks it down for you.

The Essentials You Must Know About Window Washers

The Job Itself

The job requires many different skills for window washers to complete their duties successfully. Window washing requires physical strength, agility, balance, coordination, and endurance!

Safety must always come first when working at heights high above the ground (most jobs require working off tall buildings and skyscrapers!), and window washers must always be aware of the precautions they should take. Just ask the experts at Cool Glass Window Cleaning .

It can be Lucrative!

Window washing is a challenging profession, but it can also be advantageous and lucrative! However, remember that not everyone is cut out for this line of work. To begin with, you must have excellent balance.

You’ll also need strong legs and arms to haul yourself up tall ladders over and over again throughout the day. Suppose you often suffer from motion sickness or dizziness when riding in cars or riding as a passenger on a bus.

In that case, window washing probably isn’t for you – you will feel unwell if you were to attempt window-washing during your commute! Window wash jobs require the worker to be ultimately still for long periods, so motion sickness can hinder you from being successful.

There are Plenty of Jobs Out There

If you’re not physically cut out to be a window washer, do not despair! There are many other jobs available in the window washing industry.

For example, many people choose to become window cleaners or trade helpers to give themselves an edge over other applicants seeking higher positions. Cleaners will often work under the supervision of a lead cleaner who ensures that all tasks are completed following safety regulations and guidelines.

If you’re interested in becoming a washer for your local company, always ask whether they hire apprentices or not – this way, you can gain valuable experience before applying again as a full-fledged cleaner.

Trade helpers are also a valued asset to any business! They must have a broad knowledge of different positions within the industry and an ability to communicate effectively with those working at heights. The more experience you have as a trade helper, the better you’ll be able to help your employees succeed in their jobs and projects.

Window washers clean the glass worldwide daily and perform one of the most hazardous jobs on skyscraper and high-rise buildings.

Window washers face danger from slips that can lead to death and from less apparent dangers such as chemical exposure that can lead to lifelong illnesses or respiratory problems.

Often, window washers work hundreds of feet above the earth without proper safety equipment such as helmets, goggles, and harnesses, which can put their lives at risk.

The more modern construction sites will require equipment for personal protection; however, older buildings may not have had this requirement during their initial construction, causing an increased number of hazards for worker health and safety.

The men and women who work as window washers do to trade and generally enjoy their jobs. Many report it as an exciting job, but the job stability is constantly affected by the instability of the economy.

Many companies will cut back on spending for safety equipment and tradespeople during times of economic downturn, and this makes window washers susceptible to financial hardship due to injuries or illness that keep them from working.

Remember: Safety is Paramount!

Window washing is an excellent job for those who love being outside and enjoy climbing around on rooftops. It can also be very lucrative if you work hard enough at it. However, window washers must never forget that safety comes first when working around high elevations.

Be sure to look after yourself during your workday, eat nutritiously, and get lots of sleep! Do not skip leg or arm day in the gym, and be sure to stretch before climbing up any ladders! If you have the skills, then window washing might be the job for you.
