The Common Types of Air Conditioners for Your Home

The air conditioner market is massive and growing even more by the day with technological advances. If you’re worried about finding the perfect model for your home, you’ve come to the right place!

This article will give you an overview of the most common air conditioning units for your home. Let’s get started!

Central Air Conditioners

Most homes have central air conditioners, which are the most common type. A metal cabinet outside that has a condenser coil, a compressor, and a fan is at the heart of a central air conditioning system.

Inside the house, an evaporator coil-equipped furnace sits next to the indoor cabinet and sends cool air through a series of ducts. Central air conditioners are great for big homes because they can cool more than one room at once and have a bigger BTU capacity than window units.

Central air conditioning systems use less energy, make less noise, and have a permanent air filter that improves the air.

Ductless Mini Splits

A ductless mini split air conditioning system requires no ductwork and can be installed almost anywhere. It comprises an outside unit that houses the condenser and compressor and one, two, three, or more indoor blower/evaporator units.

This type of air conditioner is great for single cooling rooms, as one or more indoor units can be easily installed, controlled, and regulated independently. The indoor units are relatively small and discreet, and they connect to the outdoor unit via two copper lines that run through a small hole in the wall.

As long as ventilation is adequate, ductless mini splits offer a perfect solution for cooling a single room or an entire home without needing an air conditioning repair service team to set up everything.

Window Type Units

One of the most common home air conditioners is one that you put in a window. These models that go on windows are easy to put in almost any kind of window.

They pull hot air in from outside and send it back out after it has been cooled or heated. Most window air conditioners are smaller than other types, so they take up less room and easily move from one window to another.

They are also a good choice for people on a tight budget because they are much cheaper than central air conditioning. Also, it’s easy to set up, and most models have clear instructions. Even though they are small, window-type air conditioners work well and can cool a whole room quickly and effectively.

Inverter Air Conditioners

Inverter air conditioners are becoming increasingly popular for cooling a house. These inverter systems have a few advantages that regular air conditioners don’t have.

They use less energy, run quietly, and let you control the temperature exactly. The inverter air conditioner saves energy because the compressor can increase or decrease its output depending on the temperature setting.

Inverter air conditioners are great for people who want a way to cool their homes that is efficient, quiet, and easy to use.

Choose Wisely Among the Many Types of Air Conditioners

All types of air conditioners come in various shapes and sizes and are available at multiple price points. With the right research, you can find the ideal air conditioner for your home and budget.

Whether it’s a window, mini-split, or central unit, find the perfect cooling companion today! Check out our other blog posts if you’d like more home improvement tips and advice.
