1. Incorporating Modular Designs in Building
Since the last few years, modular styles are gaining more followers especially in the real estate and construction industry. Young professionals today are constantly experimenting with these styles to add something new to a building.
With the increase in the demand for homes and buildings, modular style house is easy to live in and be equipped with the latest interiors for an occupant. Modular homes offer the advantage, as they are generally constructed off-site where all the permits are guaranteed to be secured under a controlled scenario.
Such buildings are often cheaper to build and the crew is generally equipped with the latest technology and knowledge to put it all together. Modular buildings are also trending as they significantly fulfil the safety requirements as governed by the state laws.
2. Going Green
Today construction projects are increasingly being expected to clear green design participation. The basic motive is to encourage sustainable products and LEED certification.
With the enhanced adoption of green designs construction experts not only prove to be better with the design and technology they are equipped with but also focus on enhancing the greenery in and around the buildings.
The trend has gained major attention in the past few years owing to its benefits. Recycling, reusing, and rethinking have become a major part of their job today. We need more stringent laws to increase the green building trend for the coming years especially in the year 2021.
3. Building Information Modeling (BIM)
BIM is being used in almost all construction-related activities today. This single tool has become an indispensable part, which can increase effectiveness and collaboration like no other tool. BIM is now a regularly used tool for many RFPs as well as government agencies.
This way they can determine beforehand the issues projects that they would have to face in the future. Using BIM not only increases collaboration but also greatly reduces construction costs. It also promotes a safer building process that can result in speedy construction while minimizing safety-related incidents.
4. Drones
These are basically known are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, which has been one of the hottest selling trends in the past 2-3 years, especially used for new construction inspection.
Drones can access remote locations and give a wide view of the entire area. It can manoeuvre freely without facing any barriers. It is best used to collect location-specific data, complete safety inspections, and captures the overall progress of the project, and much more.
Drones are like surveyors, they can be used to create a 3D mapping of the place and take out images from an aerial view to depict an area. These are one of the modern-day construction tools, it has not only made mapping much easier but also more secure.
5. Robotics
Robotics and Automation have progressed over the last few years. During the initial few years, its usage in the construction field was less but now has somehow been rapidly increased. With technological advancement in the field, robotics has gained much importance in the last few years.
The benefits derived are huge; however, it is still at pretty much a fancy stage. No doubt robotics can replace humans and can do the work at a much faster pace. But still, to keep a check on those intricate details, a human eye is required. The trend is at its hottest stage, yet improvements are still needed.
