Differences Between Regular Cleaning and Deep Cleaning

You must have the knowledge of what it means when we use the terms deep or regular cleaning. Regular cleanings consist of wiping the furniture with dry clothes and brooming the floor.

Then, use pure water to wipe them. You can also use cleaners on it. Regular cleanings usually don’t take much time.

Deep cleaning means the complete disinfection of your home. After you provide a deep clean to a surface, it should totally be safe from any germ.

It will require effective cleaners and mops. You may need to wipe everything multiple times to gain that level of sparkling.

Floor Cleaning

If we talk about home cleaning, the first surfaces that come to our mind are the floors. They are like the Homepage of a home and require both regular and deep cleaning.

When buying cleaners for your floors, make sure they are for the specific materials the floor is made of. For example, most cleaners that are suitable for sealed floors may be harmful to any wooden or bamboo floor.

Clean from a corner and move towards the door or exit. Don’t get trapped in a corner. If so, you may need to step on already cleaned areas, which will result in leaving footprints and germs on the spot.

If you live in a house, the outer part of your home is the first thing guests will see. Even though it may need less cleaning during rainy seasons, you should still focus on the outer parts once in a while.

Especially damp areas can give birth to algae and molds. While cleaning the outside walls and parts, you can use your garden hose as a water supply.

But make sure to close all the windows beforehand. As mentioned before, use the correct cleaners for the surfaces.

Cleaning your Window and Shower Doors

Hard water stains and soap scum can easily ruin windows and shower doors. Take some salt and soak half a lemon in them. Then, use a scrub to rub them on the shower doors.

Meanwhile, get a cup of water, the same amount of rubbing alcohol, and a tablespoon of vinegar. Mix them together, and you get yourself a homemade cleaner for glass windows and mirrors.

Clean from top to bottom. Instead of buying a sponge, you can use an old clean cloth.

Cleaning Your Furniture

Clean your furniture using water and disinfection liquid sprays. If it is a wooden belonging, avoid oversaturating it. Dip a clean cloth in the water and rinse it properly. Then, wipe the dirt from the wooden surfaces.

Cleaning Your Dishes

Ignoring dishes and leaving them is a highly unhealthy habit. Many of us just clean the dishes using water and any random dish soap.

The dish soap is okay, but you have to use warm water at 170 degrees F to disinfect them. That is really hot, so wear gloves when cleaning.

Got any pans with boiled food? Put them on the stove and add some rhubarb and water. Boil them for five minutes and let them cool down. Afterward, scrub them and see the sparkling result.

If you have any tarnished silver spoon or tray, apply toothpaste, and rub it. That should do the trick.

Electronics Cleaning Tricks

For obvious reasons, avoid water when cleaning any electronics in your home. Use tissue paper or any clean cloth to wipe the surfaces.

If your PC gets too dirty, you may DIY clean it with an air compressor. Make a solution of half water and half vinegar.

Dip a toothbrush and use it to clean your keyboard. If the keys are removable, then remove them. You may find special liquids to clean digital displays.

Make sure to turn the electrical connections off before cleaning any electronic item.

Cleaning Your Cooking Electronics

They are your everyday friends, and they need the care too. Cleaning your kitchen electrical appliances may seem tricky, but they are actually easier than you think.

Got a dirty microwave? Place a bowl of water into it and warm it for 5 minutes. Then, wipe the surfaces inside.

You may be washing your mixer the wrong way. Instead of risking your fingers cleaning the blades, make a solution of baking soda, dishwashing liquid, and water in the mixer.

Bland them for some seconds and rinse them with water.

To clean your coffee machine, open the reservoir and add vinegar and water. Turn it on. Afterward, get the liquid out and add only water again. Turn it on, and your coffee machine will be disinfected.

Toilet and Bathroom Cleaning Hacks

It sounds funny, but you can deep clean your toilet using Kool-Aid powder. Apply them on the toilet surfaces and leave them for a while. Use your brush on some areas and flush the toilet.

To get rid of any mildew from your bathroom floor, make a solution of half-water and half-vodka. Afterward, spray on the surfaces and wait for ten minutes. Then use a clean cloth to wipe them away.

Final Note

Make sure to deep clean every necessary part of your home once in a while. It is more applicable to the tools that you use every day. After you have finished cleaning, you have to clean up the sponge, cleaning cloths and brooms too.

By keeping everything disinfected, you will be preventing many potential diseases. Hopefully, you won’t face any issues when cleaning your home. Stay safe.
