Remove Clutter

When somebody views a house, they want to know there is enough space to store all their possessions. Even if your home has that space, clutter will make it seems like there is less space than there is.

Start with the most trafficked rooms in the house. Try to remove all objects from the room that shouldn’t be there. You want there to be as much floor space as possible.

The next place to look is your closets. Don’t just throw all your extra items in there when cleaning your home for a showing. Your visitors will want to check the closet space, so make sure everything is clean and organized.

Get Rid of Personalization

It makes sense to personalize your home. After all, you want it to feel like it’s yours.

The same goes for the people who visit your home before buying. They want to imagine themselves as the owner of your home. It’s hard to do this when you have personal pictures and unique decorations everywhere.

It’s easier to appeal to a large number of buyers when you use decor that will appeal to everybody. Try to make your home decorations as neutral as possible. Doing this makes it easier for somebody to imagine themselves living in your house.

Work on Your Landscaping

First impressions are everything when it comes to the home buying process. A bad first impression can put off a buyer from making an offer on your home, even if nothing is wrong with your home.

Your first impression starts at the front door. If you want to make a stronger impression, invest a little money in landscaping for your front yard.

There’s no need to go overboard when doing this. Make sure you cut your grass and trim down all your greenery. A few plants around the front door also make your home more inviting to potential buyers.

Make Intelligent Upgrades

It’s going to be harder to sell your home if it comes with a bunch of needed repairs for the home buyer. The typical person is going to go after a home that doesn’t require much work after they move in.

This makes it a good idea to make smart upgrades to your home for the next owner to take advantage of.

These upgrades include essential items like your furnace, air conditioner, appliances, and anything else necessary for the home to function.

Small cosmetic upgrades can also improve the selling price of your home. However, make sure you don’t spend money on your home that you won’t get back with your sell price.

Take Professional Photographs

You might get a few potential buyers interested in buying your home by doing the bare minimum when it comes to pictures.

The problem with this is that you’ll miss out on a lot of buyers that look at photos online before traveling to a property to take a look. This is especially true when trying to sell a vacant house. Consider staging, even if just for the photographs on the listing.

It pays to have professional photographs of your home. Invest in a quality camera to take pictures. Once you have this, try to capture as many images of your property as you can so people can see the entire house online.

If you aren’t a great photographer, reach out to a professional real estate photographer to help. They will know what pictures to take to maximize the appeal of your house in online listings.

Take Advantage of Lightning

Nobody wants to live in a space that’s dark and gloomy. If you stage your home with burnt out light bulbs and no natural light, people aren’t going to be impressed with what they see.

Stage your vital rooms with enough light to make every corner of the room bright and visible. This much light makes a room more inviting and more pleasurable to be in.

You can also use natural light to improve the mood of the room. Natural light has a warmer feeling than artificial lights. It can make up for poor lighting inside and help the room feel bigger than it is.

Talk to a Real Estate Agent

There is a lot that goes into putting together a good real estate deal. If you don’t have experience doing it yourself, the chances are that you’re going to miss an important detail.

One of the best tips for selling houses is to talk with a real estate agent during the process. An experienced agent has sold a lot of houses in your market. They know what home buyers are looking for.

Your real estate agent will give you tips on making your home more presentable. They will be able to help you command a higher price for your home and get it sold more quickly.

Now You Know How to Get Your House Ready to Sell in 30 Days

It’s already hard enough to get your house ready for a typical sales process. Getting your home prepared on a 30-day timeline gives you little time to get everything right.

Now that you know how to get your house ready to sell in 30 days, you can improve your chances of getting your home ready to sell.
