Use Dry, Seasoned Wood Pellets

These pellets are made from sawdust and other wood waste, so they are a renewable resource. They are also very efficient so that you will get more heat for your money. You can find these pellets at most home improvement stores.

You should store the pellets in a dry place, and you’ll need to use a scoop to fill the pellet stove’s hopper. The hopper is where you keep the pellets and feed them into the stove.

Start With a Small Fire

To use a pellet stove and save on your heating costs, start by igniting a small fire.

Once the flames are roaring, turn the dial to the desired heat setting and load the pellets into the hopper. The pellets will slowly feed into the fire, keeping it lit and at the desired temperature.

Keep the Damper Open

To achieve the most efficient burn, keep the doors and vents open while the pellet stove operates. Doing so will allow oxygen to flow and prevent the fire from going out. It will enable the heat to circulate better and help warm your home.

When you’re ready to extinguish the flames, turn the dial to the “off” position. The burning pellets will then stop feeding into the fire.

Don’t Over-Feed the Fire

Overfeeding the fire will cause the pellets to burn too hot and too fast. This will decrease the efficiency of the stove and cause the pellets to ash.

The best way to use a pellet stove is to keep the fire at a moderate level.

Let It Burn on Its Own

Always make sure that once the fire is going, you have to let it burn on its own. It will be able to regulate itself, and you won’t have to worry about it going out. Additionally, by letting the fire burn on its own, you’ll be able to save on your heating costs.

Pellet stoves are a great way to save on your heating costs. They are easy to use and can be a great heat source for your home. When using a pellet stove, use dry, seasoned pellets, start with a small fire and keep the damper open.

Also, don’t over-feed the fire and allow the fire to burn on its own. Knowing how to use a pellet stove will help ensure that you are using the stove safely and efficiently.
