The roof is what protects the home or building from all outdoor elements, including rain, snow, and critters as well! Do you believe your roof might be compromised? If so, you’ll want to continue reading below.

There are several major signs to look out for that you are in need of roof repair service. Here’s everything you need to know!

1. Damaged Shingles

Damaged shingles are one of the most common signs that a roof is failing. A couple of times a year, take the time to conduct a roof inspection by walking around your property. Do you notice any missing shingles?

Can you spot shingles that are cracked or have curling corners? These are all signs of damaged shingles. You should also be on the lookout for granules or shingles on the ground.

Granules are a part of the shingles and can fall off due to old age or damage. Look for them in the gutters as well. If the gutters are clogged, then you might find some granules as the culprits.

If there are only one or two damaged shingles, then you should be able to repair or replace these few pieces. If it’s a widespread problem, then you might be in need of a new roof.

2. Sagging Spots

While conducting your inspection from the ground, can you notice any sagging spots on the roof? Even roofs with different degrees of the pitch should still be flat along the lines. No areas of the roof should be warped or sagging down.

A sagging roof can indicate a major problem that should be addressed as soon as possible. It’s also important to note that sagging can happen on the inside of the home or building as well. Take a look inside the attic and see if you notice sagging areas inside too.
