Sick of your bathroom decor? You’re not alone! During the lockdown, we’ve all been spending a lot more time at home, and sometimes this means looking around and realizing our decor is outdated.

If you’re looking for a new look for your bathroom design, but you’re not ready to splash out on a brand-new bathroom, read on for some of our tips.

In this post, we’ll look at some simple ideas to avoid bathroom remodeling costs while enjoying a fresh look in your home.

Set a Budget

When you’re planning a budget-friendly bathroom update, the first step is – you guessed it! Decide on maximum spend. Make sure it’s one you’re comfortable with, as you don’t have to spend too much to add character to your home interior.

Making small changes to details or hardware can be just as effective as completely changing plumbing or appliances. You don’t always need a huge overhaul to fall back in love with your home!

Decide What You Can Live With

Do you detest your bathroom lighting but love the faucets? Pick a few items in your room that you can live with and decide where to spend your money. This will help to focus your project and help you avoid feeling out of control.

It’s easy to get carried away with Pinterest searches, but if you can avoid changing all the fixtures and fittings, you’ll save a ton of money.

Figure out what your needs are from your layout – do you want aesthetics or function? Are you willing to invest the expense in construction, or are you short on time and funds? Prioritising these things will help you to achieve the overhaul of your dreams.

Incorporate Colour

One way to make a huge difference at a low cost is to play with color. You could apply a coat of paint or wallpaper one wall for a feature wall, which is a great trick to make the whole place feel brand new.

A cheap DIY activity is to update storage using spray paint, which only takes a couple of hours. Or you could apply colorful tile decals for a pop of brightness.

Another easy accent is to change the hue of the grout – again something easily done yourself. Changing the colour of accents like taps is another great way to give a fresh look with low spending.

Choose a Statement Piece

For a truly opulent space, seek out one or two items to act as a focal point. This could be a luxurious light fixture such as a chandelier to add sparkle. Search antique shops or even eBay to find a decorative vanity or a gorgeous mirror.

Be wary of overwhelming small bathrooms with pieces that are too big. For a small room, a statement shower curtain can be an excellent choice and brighten up the bathtub.

Update Storage

We all know that bathroom storage containers quickly end up overflowing, adding to the unpleasant feeling of the room. The stuff gets even worse when kids are living at home! Changing storage options is a great, low-cost way of updating your home’s space.

If you have room, consider using shelving to keep the clutter at bay. In a small bathroom, the space above the tub can even be used. Think creatively – there are plenty of cool and effective products out there.

Look to Ikea, Pinterest, and customer reviews for inspiration!

Budget Bathroom Accessories

If the cost is at an all-time low, don’t worry! You can still give your bathroom an update by changing small accents and for budget-friendly stores that don’t break the bank, I would check out options from https://www.bellabathrooms.co.uk.

Search for cheap soap dispensers with matching lotion and toothpaste containers to display on the sink, toilet, or bath. Choose funky, bright, or understated shower curtains that suit your overall decor.

Display coordinating towels on shelves above the door for a stylish hotel-inspired design. You don’t need to break the bank or spend thousands for a simple refresh – The Range and Wilko have some great styles at rock-bottom prices.

Add Plants

You can’t fail to notice that greenery will be huge in 2025! Not only do plants improve the appearance of our interior environment, but many of them also have air-purifying benefits and can thrive on the moisture within a bathroom.

Choose hanging varieties cascading from the ceiling to complement a shower area, or place small succulents on sinks and surfaces. This is a brilliant and easy idea for updating the aesthetic and style of your layout.
