What Is the Difference Between Bamboo and Cotton Sheets?

When talking about bedding products, these two are the widely available varieties. For years, most people have preferred cotton bedding because of their breathability and durability.

But, recently, bamboo bedding got introduced to the market and is getting very popular due to its lightness, softness, and durability. Also, these are less prized, which makes them more favorable.

Before you choose any of these two, there is a need to know the main differences between them. Always choose the best bamboo sheets because they are more durable and comfortable.

Durability

Cotton sheets are also very durable, but they start getting softer after some time. So, many people feel the sheet gets older and consider changing it with new ones.

While on the other hand, bamboo sheets are extremely durable and are able to hold their dye better; therefore, they do not lose their color even after years.

 Available Variety

Although both sheets are available in a huge variety, cotton sheets are available in more colors and designs. One can select any color and material according to the theme of their home. Different types of material used in making bamboo sheets are:

  • Rayan
  • Modal
  • Lyocell
  • Bamboo linen

Comfort and Feel

Feel and comfort depend on the material used in making the sheets, but most bamboo sheets are comfortable and feel fantastic.

Some people even call bamboo sheets “butter-soft” sheets. However, cotton sheets are also very smooth and comfortable but not as much as bamboo.

This is because cotton beadings do not let the air pass and absorb the moisture and sweetness that the body releases, making the bedding wet and uncomfortable.

Temperature Control

Bamboo sheets are breathable enough and allow the air to circulate, which helps in regulating the temperature well. On the other hand, temperature control is the biggest strength of cotton bedewing products. Some people believe bamboo sheets do not sleep cool as cotton.

Care and Cleaning

Both bedding products need almost equal care and cleaning . For both, it is suggested to call a machine washing. Each wash makes the bedding more comfortable and softer. If you clean and maintain them regularly, they will never lose their colors.

Cost

When compared to bamboo sheets, cotton sheets are a bit on the expensive side. They range between $50 and $200, whereas cotton bedding ranges from $50 to $500. Always select the best bamboo sheets that come within your budget.
