How Can I Bring Them Home?

The first question we want to answer for you is where do bed bugs come from and how can you get them in your home. Bed bugs can hitch a ride in purses, backpacks, and luggage if they are placed on a surface that is infested. They can also hide in used furniture.

In apartment buildings and hotels they can travel between rooms and invade your area. If you have any carpets stay on top of keeping them clean and vacuumed to remove any hitchhikers.

If you stay at hotels often you want to keep the luggage off the ground and use the luggage rack instead. Also, do your best to keep your purse and luggage off the mattress and furniture because these are the main areas that they hide in.

Every time you return home from a trip, wash all of your clothing in hot water and dry them in high heat. Inspect your bags for any signs of bed bugs before you put them away.

If you use public laundromats, you want to be careful. Instead of using fabric laundry bags, use disposable plastic bags. When you take the clothes out of the dryer put them in the bag and fold at home instead, to lower your chances of bringing bed bugs home.

Treatment Options

There are different ways to get rid of bed bugs effectively. One way is through heat treatment. With this option, you will want to call in the pros and they can come out and inspect how large your home is to give you a quote.

With heat treatment, special equipment is brought into the home to raise the temperature. The great thing about using heat treatment is that it can kill bed bugs at all stages in their life cycle. This means that with one treatment everything from eggs to adults can die.

Another option is to use pesticides, but keep in mind that these are not as effective and can be dangerous if they are not used correctly. If you prefer you can have a pest control company use pesticides but you want to ask them if they have experience with bed bugs specifically.

Now You Know Where Do Bed Bugs Come From

Now that we have answered your questions about where do bed bugs come from and how you can get rid of them, you can start taking action to get rid of them for good. Once they are out of your home you can then take preventative measures to ensure that they stay out and don’t come back.
