A skip is a large open-topped container designed for loading on to a special type of lorry. Instead of being emptied into a bin lorry on site.

At Skip bins Melbourne providing best price skip bins , the skip is removed and replaced by an empty skip and then tipped at a landfill site or transfer station.

The residents of Melbourne have been demonstrating a rise in the amount of household waste they produce.

According to the national waste reporting 2013, waste generation increased from 1.2 tonnes in 1996 – 97  to an average of 2.2 tonnes in 2010-11  this represents a substantial growth over a relatively short period.

We can assume that these figures have continued to grow over the last six years since the report was published.

1. Marrel Skip Bins

These are the most common of skip bin types. They have tall sides and are generally more difficult to load as compared to other skip bin types. Marrel skips range in size from 1.5 cubic metres and goes up to as big as 17 cubic metres.

2. Hooklift Skip Bins

They are also known as walk-ins skip bins. They are longer in length than marrel skips and are on the lower sides.

Their most distinctive feature is the rear door which can be swung open. They offer walk-in access right into the skip, making the loading process very easy.

3. Mobile Skip Bins

They are a new type of skip bin and are smaller than both marrel skip and hook lift skips. They are referred to as mini skip bins. They appear similar to front lift bins which are seen in industrial settings.

They are transported with the help of small trailers and can be placed on roads without a permit. The size ranges from 3 cubic metres to 6 cubic metres.

4. Skip bags

They are quite different from other types of skip bin. Unlike skip bins, which are hired only once, skip bags available for long-term hire. They are a hessian bag and not a solid Steel bin structure.

When a skip bag is ordered, it will be delivered to you and waste will be removed on a periodic basis. It will remain at your location for as long as you want to.

There are garden skip bags which you can use to dispose of the hundred per cent garden waste. They are similar to the bins offered by the local Council except that they are 2.5 times larger.

You can have your skip bag collected once every two or four or eight weeks and weekly collection is also offered.

Conclusion

If you are looking to hire skips, you can choose from the four skip bin types mentioned above. They include marrel skips, walk-in skips, mini skip, and skip bags.
