In times marked by the delicacy of minimalism, some people may miss that extra touch of luxury indoors. A good way to add refinement to the rooms is to bet on classic decor, known for the elegance it conveys through the use of high-quality elements.

Classic Decoration: Find Out How to Invest This Style in Your Home!

Very traditional, this style has been used extensively in historical monuments. Its popularity continues to rise because it suits any environment, from living rooms to bathrooms and outdoor areas.

The secret to getting a good result is to correctly balance the colors, textures, and other typical features of the composition.

Want a little help to do this? So, don’t miss the information and tips we’ve brought you on the subject!

How is the Classic Decor?

The history of this style began in Antiquity when classical architecture predominated in the construction of temples, memorials, and the most important works of the period. The luxury was printed both in the structure of buildings or in the internal details, always with the aim of showing the power of the nobility.

Classic spaces generally involve the following characteristics:

  • imposing — wide spaces, large halls, and high ceilings;
  • curved openings — windows and doors with parts worked in rounded lines;
  • verticalization — tall columns to give breadth and refer to greatness;
  • sober colors—neutral palettes, with few shade variations;
  • noble materials — precious stones, marble, solid wood, etc.;
  • ornamentation—many upholstery, fabrics, valuables, and rare objects.

By combining a series of elements, the classic decor has a unique charm that delights at first sight. No wonder it is commonly associated with the word “chic”. At the same time, this type of composition brings the comfort characteristic of old mansions, which, although spacious, had their rooms filled with lots of furniture and accessories.

How to Apply This Style At Home?

If you identify with compositions that refer to times past, you can take advantage of this interest to transform the appearance of your own house. Inspirations and references are everywhere: blogs, magazines, social networks, television programs, and much more.

How about starting the changes with our tips? Here are some essential steps to creating amazing classic decor!

Combine Neutral Colors and Yellowish Light

The tones of the style are, for the most part, discreet and smooth. Options such as beige, white, cream, and gray variations are preferred for walls, ceilings, and floors. More striking colors (blue, green, red) are usually limited to accessories and small objects, especially when the objective is to create focal points and contrasts.

As for the color of lights, prefer yellowish bulbs as you can see in the rooms of Nova City Esports Block. They visually warm up, creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.

When combined with the neutral nuances of large surfaces, the yellowish hue helps to keep everything in harmony — especially in the rest areas that ask for a little more comfort.

Careful in Finishing Materials

The decor inspired by classical architecture accepts a series of finishes. However, as with the colors of the walls, the coverings must-have neutral and unobtrusive surfaces. You can try a light wood floor, marble countertops, and countertops, granite baseboards, etc.

Stickers and wallpapers are also welcome. Templates with floral or arabesque patterns, for example, are great to compose a romantic double room within the classic theme. Also, bet on versions with prints worked in shades of gold, rosé gold, or silver.

Use Curved and Worked Furniture

Curved legs, rounded corners, and large dimensions mark the style of classic furniture. Just like the architecture, they are imposing pieces and full of details that bring a lot of beauty and sophistication. Carved wooden models with carvings and designs tend to work well in any room.

If you have a very old piece of furniture, you can insert it into the composition. Another possibility is to invest in classic design planned projects to bring luxury to various sets in the house: a table with bulky chairs in the dining room, a couple of armchairs with upholstered arms in the living room, and so on.

Add Textures and Volumes

As the classic environments are usually neutral, the tip is to be careful in applying textures that can add information and make the house cozier. Fabrics with varied wefts and fibers are great for this. Invest in plush runners, lace table rails, draped drapes, and plush throws.

In the bathroom, include a set of rugs that are soft and pleasant to the touch. This space can also receive embossed coverings (on the floor or the walls). Porcelain tiles or ceramics that simulate the veins of marble and the roughness of different rocks are perfect because they do not degrade in contact with local humidity.

Finish with Good Taste

Accessories cannot be lacking in a classic composition. After all, they act as complements to the décor in every room. It’s worth looking for pieces from other times to harken back to the past, whether it’s an object inherited from the family or items found in thrift stores, specialty stores, or antique shops.

Mirrors and frames are great allies, especially if they have circular, oval, or organic contours. If it’s in your interest to create a more worn look (as if it were caused by the passage of time), prioritize frames with scratched corners or rusty parts. You can see an interesting mirror décor in Nova City 3.5 Marla Residential Plots.

Other accessories that work very well are chandeliers, candlesticks, and sconces. In addition to acting as decorative items, they help to distribute light to obtain indirect light. When choosing these luminaires, look for models that have a glossy finish (copper, silver, or gold).

In outdoor areas, such as porches and balconies, you can place clay flower boxes, wrought iron supports, and even railings to support vases with ornamental plants. If these spaces have tables and sideboards, decorate the tops with flower arrangements arranged in vases or on crystal trays.

Even full of details, classic decor can be timeless and stay in your home for a long time. The best way to have a result that suits your taste and personality is to have specialized support. A professional in design or architecture will guide your choices and plan every detail of the composition.
