By 2023, the vinyl flooring market is expected to more than double that of 2016. And now people are more interested in Vinyl floors as compared to other types of floors.

You can wipe the vinyl floor every day to keep it looking shiny and fresh. But it’s pretty difficult to remove scuff marks from vinyl floors by simple mopping.

How can I get rid of scuff marks from the vinyl floor? In today’s guide, we have listed some of the best methods that help you to clean and remove all types of scuff marks from the vinyl floor.

Eraser Method to Remove Scuff Marks From Vinyl Flooring

Scratches can be removed by rubbing. You see, the scratches aren’t made of dirt or dirt. Traces of scratches are often small rubber deposits from the soles of the shoes.

With a regular eraser, you can easily create the friction needed to remove scratches from a  vinyl floor.

Yes, you can erase the scratches with a pencil eraser! Just apply pressure on the scratches with an eraser (preferably a clean one), just as you would erase a pencil mark on a piece of paper.

Alternative:  Tennis Ball Method

If you don’t have an eraser around your house, or if it’s uncomfortable to bend the floor low, there are alternatives that create friction. Start by cutting an X on one side of the tennis ball.

This hole can be used to attach a tennis ball to the end of the broom. Scratch the scratch with a tennis ball broom and lift it off the ground.

Rubbing Spirit Method

Dry rubbing alone may not be enough to remove stubborn scratches. In such cases, you can use a cleaner that is gentler than bleach.

Lightly tap rubbing alcohol on a clean white cloth and repeat the scratches several times. To melt the scuff, you can also hold a damp cloth over it for about 30 seconds. Do this until no scratches remain.

It is safe to use rubbing alcohol on its own, but it can become volatile when mixed with other chemicals. Do not mix rubbing alcohol with bleaching agents and do not use it near open flames.)

Alternative:  Hairspray Method

There is no rubbing alcohol in the closet, but there is a hairspray. Use that too! The alcohol content in hairspray is about 5060%, making it an effective cleaning alternative for scuffs.

When using hairspray, dampen another clean rag with plain water and wipe the area clean. Because hairspray is sticky, you’ll want to remove any sticky residue.

Using Baking Soda

We love baking soda as a household staple. Why? Baking soda can break down almost everything from mold to grease and, as you might expect, scratches

If you need to remove the scratches, mix 3 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water to make a small amount of baking soda and water. To remove scratches with baking soda paste, it must be combined with an abrasive.

A toothbrush or a coarse sponge will suffice. With the cleaning tool soaked in baking soda paste, apply pressure to the mark so that it lifts off the floor. To remove the baking soda paste left on the floor, wipe it with a damp cloth.

Alternative:  Magic Eraser Method

Magic Eraser is another favorite of us. If you don’t want to use harsh chemicals, but you don’t have baking soda, you can use a magic eraser.

Wet the magic eraser and squeeze out excess water. Rub the floor until there are no scratch marks. The magic eraser should leave no unsightly residue on the floor if it has been cleaned before use.

Should I use Soap to Remove Scratches on Vinyl Floors?

Dishwashing liquid can be used to clean some floor coverings. Can I clean the vinyl floor with dishwashing liquid?

Scuff marks on vinyl floors can be removed with dish soap, but it isn’t necessary. You can use any of the methods above to remove the scuff mark.

Furthermore, soap can leave behind a streaky residue on vinyl floors. Further, that residue can trap dirt over time, making your floors dirtier than they were when you first cleaned them!

What is the Best Way to Remove Dirt Scuff Marks From Vinyl Flooring?

Microfiber Cloths Method

With a dry microfiber cloth, you can easily remove dirt scuff marks from vinyl flooring. Clean the floor after removing all dirt and scars. Tada, the floor is also clean and tidy.

Method

Don’t worry! If method 1 did not work. Using this method, you can remove all traces of dirt from the vinyl floor and restore it to a clean look.

The method is similar to method 1, but this time it requires a moistened microfiber cloth and rubs the scratches until the stains disappear. Then vacuum the vinyl floor. That’s it. 2 rubber method

This is a very common method and you may have heard of it before reading this blog.

This method does a few things without actually doing it, but it may not be as effective as it should be. So, start with the type of gum and get rid of the traces of dirt.

It is recommended to glue an eraser to the top of the pin. The pencil has more inertia due to its length, and with less energy consumed, it removes dirt scuff stains better than a simple eraser.

You will get rid of the dirt and scuff marks by rubbing an eraser over them. Vacuum Clean the floor after all the dirt scuff marks have been removed from your vinyl floor, and voila! You have a clean vinyl floor.
