How to Use Lemon to Clean Microwave

First of all, lemon is very acidic in nature and its acidic pH contributes a lot to dissolve grease and gunk. Lemon alone can be a great natural ingredient to clean your oven and eliminate odors and sticky stuff. Here is how to do these Lemon Cleaning Hacks!

Sliced Lemon

To do this, take a fresh lemon and cut it into two pieces. Now, scrub the cut side to the oven surfaces for a few minutes. Wait for a while and then wipe off with a piece of cloth or paper napkin. Along with the baked messes, lemon will take away the odors as well.

Lemon Juice and Water

It can be another effective yet easiest way like the earlier one. To do this, pour ¾ cup of water into a microwave-proof bowl and add 3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to it.

Now, microwave the mixture until it boils. Then turn off the power but make sure not to open the door. Wait for a while and allow the steam to set in and do its job. Now, wipe it clean and there you go!

How to Use Baking Soda to Clean Microwave

If you cannot manage lemon to clean the microwave in your kitchen, you can use Baking Soda instead. Here is how to do this hack;

Direct Application of Baking Soda

To do this, simply take the turntable as well as the support ring out of the microwave and set them aside. Now, sprinkle baking soda across the bottom of your microwave oven.

Take a piece of cloth, soak it into hot water, and scrub the surface as well as inside walls thoroughly. Also, make sure to do the same with the inner side of the door and turntable & support ring. Now, wipe the microwave off and there you go!

Baking Soda Solution

It can be another efficient trick if you want to clean the oven effortlessly. To do this, pour one cup of freshwater into a microwaveable bowl and add two tablespoons of baking soda to it.

Mix well and microwave them for 2-3 minutes. By this time, baking soda steams will clean the walls, absorb the odors, and loosen the lodged foods and oils (if there are any).

Now, take the bowl out safely and wipe the oven with a damp cloth. While wiping, make sure there’s no trace of baking soda inside.

Now, let’s see how to use baking soda and lemon together to clean the microwave oven in the following;

Lemon and Baking Soda

Well, if you can manage some time and render a little extra effort, this can be the finest solution to clean your oven. To do this, you will need the following ingredients:

  1. One cup of water
  2. A few slices of fresh lemon
  3. 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda

Now, start with filling an ovenproof bowl with a cup of water. Pour the baking soda into it and add the lemon slices. Stir the ingredients with a spoon and place the bowl on the turntable. Now, microwave on high for 3 minutes and keep the bowl inside for another 5 to 7 minutes.

Then, take the bowl out safely from the microwave and wipe the inside with a piece of cloth. You can expect to have the best result with this process as I personally experienced. Yes, it will take a little longer, but believe me, it worth the effort!
