Every time that you get up in the morning, go to work or go to bed at night, you have certain things in common with millions of other Americans: you breathe.

Air is necessary to breathe. Unfortunately, millions of Americans don’t have the best air quality to breathe because they use low-quality air filters.

Replacement Air Filters 3 Tips for Choosing Your Best Option

Many people don’t realize the connection between poor air quality and the type of air filter that they have. But with so many different types of filters on the market, what should you get? Keep reading the 3 tips you need to know about choosing the right replacement air filters.

1. Know Your Homes Specific Needs

You have to consider your home’s specific needs in terms of air quality. For example, if you have allergies or asthma, for example, you’ll want to choose a filter that will remove as many irritants from the air as possible.

Or if you have pets, one of your options could be a 20x20x1 air filter or something similar because it is what suits their needs.

And then you have to think about the size of your home and the amount of filtering you’ll need to do in order to keep the air clean. Larger homes will require more powerful filters, while smaller homes can get by with less powerful options.

2. Compare Air Filter Brands

Do not purchase the first air filter that comes into your radar. You have to compare different brands to make sure that you are getting your money’s worth. Some brands are better than others at removing particles.

You also have to consider the MERV rating of an air filter. This rating system rates air filters on their ability to remove particles from the air. The higher the MERV rating, the more particles the filter will remove. Look for a filter with a MERV rating of at least 8.

And finally, you can use online reviews to gauge the differences between brands.

3. Consider Your Budget

When considering your budget for replacement air filters, always remember to factor in both the initial cost of the filter and the ongoing costs of replacement filters.

The initial cost of the filter is typically the most expensive, so it is important to choose a filter that will be durable and last a long time. The ongoing costs of replacement filters can add up over time, so it is important to choose a filter that is easy to find and replace.

Take Your Time When Choosing Replacement Air Filters

When it comes to choosing replacement air filters, these are the few things to keep in mind. First, know what your home needs. Second, compare different brands and see which fits your home best. And finally, always take into account your budget.

Do not rush your decision. After all, it will be the air you and your family will breathe that is on the line. Take the time to consider all your options.
