Building communities are developing solutions to provide homeowners with the best home experience while maintaining safety. Some major smart home trends include connectivity, personalized health management, security, and next-generation entertainment.

Most smart homeowners use robotics to automate daily tasks. Many smart home trends are in the works, and they are growing at a rapid pace. Based on our experience in interior design in San Diego, we have realized that homeowners and building communities have realized the importance of home automation and are implementing the same into their projects.

How convenient will it be to lock or unlock the gates and the main door, dim lights, or adjust room temperatures from your mobile device? It is incredible, right?!

According to Statista, more than 400 million households will have innovative home systems by 2025. Smart homes help save time and money on home security and safety and can remotely automate everyday tasks via an internet connection. Smart homes add unbelievable benefits, which is no wonder they are gaining popularity everywhere. Let us now figure out what exactly a smart home is!

In a nutshell, a “smart house” is a home equipped with several devices that automate tasks that humans would typically perform. The Internet of Things (IoT) household is the key aspect of smart homes.

In recent years, we’ve become accustomed to connecting everyday household gadgets to the internet and one another, ensuring comfort, convenience, energy saving, and safety.

Smart technology, whether smartphones, smartwatches, or smart TVs, learns user patterns and reduces the effort required by a human to complete a task. Smart homes function on the same concept.

The technology recognizes the homeowner’s usage patterns and automates the functions that reduce the grind, improving home security and safety. Let us have a go at the latest innovative home tech trends. It pays to stay updated on technology, you know.

Home Integration

Smart home technology is booming, and it is taking the trends in Home Automation to the next level. We are already familiar with Google and Amazon Alexa.

The same products get implemented to improve smart home devices’ connectivity, scalability, and usability. Smart home startups are developing communication methods for these devices, saving homeowners valuable time and money.

IoT and communication protocols are indispensable for taking the smart home system to new heights. Earlier, if you were using Alexa to turn ON/OFF your devices, now, as technology advanced, you can use it to detect whether the grocery is running low and add them to the shopping list. Since connected homes improve convenience, more people are showing interest in it.

Home Health Monitoring

Home Automation is giving health monitoring a new dimension. After the global pandemic hit us hard, many smart home technology startups have shifted their focus to health benefits. Over the last few years, staying healthy has taken precedence over everything else, and our homes have become an extension of this effort.

While smart thermostats had previously taken center stage, recent developments yielded new features such as humidity sensors, targeting the health-conscious homeowner to help with air quality and contactless appliances.

Smart air cleaners and air conditioners have garnered more attention in response to the recent global health crisis, elevating and maintaining air quality. Some smart doorbells include temperature measuring to screen visitors before they enter the house.

High-Tech Security

Smart home security has advanced beyond your imagination – from the traditional house alarms to detecting the sound of glass breaking, beeping appliances, and even monitoring for fires. Security cameras have become so interconnected that you can check on your house from anywhere and even control it from afar.

Even if break-ins aren’t a concern, intelligent home security allows you to check on your pets while you’re away, track when your children arrive home from school, or when a package is delivered.

Smart Lighting

Wireless lighting and smart lighting are gaining widespread acceptance. Like most commercial spaces, even residential areas have replaced LEDs with wireless controls and building management systems. Implementing a building management system is helping homeowners manage their lighting and expenses better.

Homeowners find it easy to adjust the light color, temperature, intensity, etc., using smartphones taking energy savings, comfort, and convenience to the next level.

Temperature Control

Some devices have smart features allowing you to control and manage your home’s temperature efficiently. You can adjust the heat and coolness of your home, saving you time and money.

Companies like Alphabet subsidiary Google, the pioneer in linked heating, are developing smart thermostats that automatically set your home to the temperatures you prefer.

Both Google Home and Amazon Echo support voice commands for controlling these devices. The best thing is that you can adjust the temperature without a remote! You can use the voice assistant’s help to set the temperature.

For example, you can say, “hey, ALEXA, set AC to “22.” And you will find the temperature changed without even getting up from bed. Schedule a specific time for your geyser to start and stop in the morning. Automation makes lives cozier and saves time – the primary rationale behind the growth of this trend.

At-Home Exercise

Pandemic and health consciousness go hand in hand. You might notice that tech-based home exercise has gained popularity post-pandemic.

Gyms and fitness studios closed down during the pandemic. The fitness freaks then realized the potential of creating fitness studios at home, making smart workout technology popular.

Smart workout technology such as Samsung’s Smart Trainer, and the Ultrahuman app, which connects to a user’s Apple Watch, have all recently picked up steam. And even though gyms and fitness studios are open now, people favor home-based exercise.

Summing Up

Smart devices provide convenience, comfort, and savings. For that reason, many more smart devices are in the pipeline. Devices will become even more competitive in the future.

Now is an excellent time to start your innovative smart home journey if you haven’t already. It is time to live a better life powered by smart devices!
