In built-up suburban areas, it is hard to find that lovely piece of green space to relax in and enjoy. So why not create your own?

No matter how small the space you have, there is always some way to add color or create the total escape zone.

Create Your Own Quiet Space

We all need a retreat from the hustle and bustle, especially when we are living in a big city. That place to relax after work with a book and a glass of wine. The place where we can forget about everything.

Add some lovely relaxing furniture, cushions, and all your favorite plants. Add some color and some wonderful aromas and you will find yourself getting lost in this oasis forever.

Planting upwards is a great way to use a small space effectively. Lots of bamboos and climbing plants will help you create your own tropical oasis. It is a well-known fact that plants improve your health.

Grow Your Own Vegetables

You do not need a massive space to grow a few carrots, peas, or potatoes. Try some strawberries and tomatoes. The art of growing and cultivating a plant or vegetable fills us with much joy. It is like our own personal creation, baby even, that we have nurtured from birth.

Do not feel too guilty when you tuck in and enjoy them though as their freshness will also be an absolute delight. Also, think of the money and tedious trips to the supermarket that this can save you.

Go, Full-on Forest!

How much do we all love an escape to the forest? Running around in the trees and feeling like a child again. The feeling is so freeing, getting back at one with nature. You do not actually need a massive space or a great deal of time when creating a backyard forest.

When you plant a forest, you will need several layers of different plants that will all work together to create the same biodiverse landscape that you find in the forest.

The right plants will protect each other and help each other grow. You may also get lots of different types of insects and animals who wish to make your forest their home.

All you need to do is a little bit of research and you can make this happen. Here are some top tips on how to do this:

  • You need to identify what type of soil you have and what nutrients it lacks.
  • Add these nutrients and choose plants, trees, and shrubs that will then flourish here.
  • First plant your saplings, plant as many as you can in that small space to give it that forest feel
  • In this way, every bit of rainfall that your forest gets will be used by these saplings to grow.
  • The trees will then start to battle for the sunlight, which will encourage them all to grow.

The next step when you have created your beautiful forest space is to spread the word. Tell your friends and family how wonderful it is and how easy it was to create. Let us all get back to our green planet, wherever we can.
