It can also help you keep your blood vessels and nerves healthy while supporting your muscles and ligaments. When it comes to choosing a good office chair for you, there is no simple answer.

Depending on the individual needs, you may wish to choose a chair mat for heavy person or an ergonomic anti-fatigue chair mat. Here are the most important features to focus on.

1. Adjustable Seat Height

This feature is so elementary that all ergonomic chairs have it. It is critical in every office chair because it gives the proper support for your lower back, buttocks, and thighs.

The adjustable seat height usually works with a pneumatic lever that goes up and down in about a 20-inch range. Make sure you adjust your chair correctly.

Keep your feet flat on the floor, your arms leveled with the desk, and your eye-level with the monitor.

2. The Width and Depth of The Seat

This is something that many people sometimes overlook. The size of the seat is critical for your comfort.

You need to be able to sit comfortably while leaving 3 inches between the back of your knees, as well as the chair’s seat.

It is also important that the forward and backward tilt of the chair is adjustable as well. The seat’s size is vital because you should be able to distribute your body weight evenly across the chair.

3. Lower Back Support

Your ergonomic office chair should give you good lower back support. Most of the pain we feel after sitting on our PC desk for too long comes from this issue.

If the lumbar support of your chair is not enough, it strains the lower spine structures. This leads to backaches and slouching.

You will find that the chair is excellent when you can adjust the chair’s height and depth to support the inward curve or your lower back properly.

4. Seat Material

The material of the seat is essential too. It should have enough padding that you will be comfortable sitting on it for hours.

Be careful, though; if you get a chair with a too hard seat, you will be uncomfortable. If you get a seat that is too soft, it won’t provide you with any support.

Balance it out and find one that suits you perfectly. As for the fabric, try to find one that will allow your body to breathe while you sit on it.

5. Backrest

The backrest is probably the part of the chair you should pay the most attention to. First of all, make sure it is wide enough to give support to your whole back.

Secondly, remember the natural curve of your spine. Find one that will fit you perfectly and give you the proper support.

Finally, make sure the backrest has an adjustable height and angle with a locking mechanism. You want to find your perfect spot and secure it, so it stays that while without moving an inch.

6. Armrests

Adjustable armrests are features that you will not find with every ergonomic office chair, but it is a preferred one.

Even though they are called armrests, they support your neck and your shoulders in addition to your arms.

When you adjust their height in line with your desk, you should rest your lower arms and elbows on them, and your forearm should not be on them when you are typing.

7. Swivel

Another feature that all ergonomic chairs will offer you. It is essential to be able to rotate effortlessly so that you avoid straining.

Consider having a look at the casters as they should give you mobility. In the end, consider getting a chair mat to provide you with even more support and allow you to move around in your office more efficiently.

Conclusion

So here it is – the most important features to look for in your new office chair. If you can find a chair with all of these features, you should get the needed support.

You will be comfortable while encouraging good posture and preventing strains and injuries. And you’ll be much happier with it.

Being more comfortable at your office means that you will be more productive, but at the same time, you will get rid of pain and take care of your health.

We know that choosing the best office might not be easy, but with the help of our article, you can definitely find one suitable for you. Hopefully, we were informed, and it will be easier for you to find that perfect match.
