Wicker

Wicker is a popular choice for outdoor furniture because of its durability and attractive look. This natural product requires specialized care to maintain its look since it’s a weave of plant fibers and reeds.

When you’re cleaning your wicker furniture, remove all cushions from the furniture base.

Keep it dusted using a soft cloth or similar duster, but when it comes time to get serious with cleaning, use the brush attachment on your vacuum and wipe it down with mild soap and water and then wipe it down with a cloth with just water on it.

Iron, Metal, Aluminum

If you have aluminum, iron, or metal outdoor furniture, the most common problem you’ll experience is oxidation. Before you clean the furniture, use a metal polish paste or 1:1 solution of water and white vinegar to remove as much oxidation as possible.

If you’ve used this guide, you’ll have chosen good quality outdoor furniture and be able to bring it back to its former glory.

To finish cleaning the aluminum, use a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning product. After you’re done cleaning it, use some automotive wax to protect it.

Glass

Remove anything that is stuck on the glass with a nonabrasive cleaning tool.

Once you’ve removed anything stuck on the glass, put some dish detergent on a paper towel, and clean the glass. After cleaning the glass, use a glass cleaner on the surface and wipe it away with a microfiber cloth.

Keep the glass looking its best by putting a cover over it when you aren’t using it.

Plastic

Fix a bucket of cleaning solution by putting a gallon of water in a bucket and three squirts of liquid dish soap. Use a rag or a sponge to wipe down the plastic furniture. If the dirt is set in, let the chairs soak for about 15 minutes.

Now you can spray your chairs off and see if all the dirt came off. If all the dirt didn’t come off, use a scrub brush or a soft toothbrush to get the dirt that’s stuck.

After you’ve finished these steps, rinse them off, flip them upside down and let them dry.

Now You Know How to Clean Outdoor Furniture

If you fail to clean your outdoor furniture, you might have to throw it away because it looks worn and gross, so these tips can help you avoid that.

Now that you know how to clean outdoor furniture, you can keep your outdoor space looking and feeling clean!
