Using tiles in your bathroom remodeling project can be really expensive as not only tiles are costly but hiring a contractor to lay it out can cost a bomb. It is a good idea to limit the use of tiles to only surfaces that experience a lot of use like the floor or the inside walls of the shower stall.

Fixing tiles in one strip on the wall with the rest of it painted can be a great money saver. If you are really keen on using expensive artistic tiles, think about using them as an accent along with cheaper tiles. Not only will the impact be greater but you will save a lot of precious money.

Economize on the Countertops

Granite tops can be really expensive if you choose the popular colors like brown, tan, beige, etc. Choose one from a wider selection of alternative colors and even consider buying slabs with imperfections to take advantage of the price difference. Most of the imperfections will not really matter as they will be hidden by the sink and faucet.

Consider using an old dresser for mounting a granite slab; they are all the rage nowadays, often selling for thousands of dollars apiece in the retail outlets. You can pick up useful DIY tips for making dresser sinks at http://www.ajmbathroomrenovation.com.au/.

Use Paint to Boost the Glamour Quotient

Use high-quality paint with a satin finish to prevent mildew and mold from developing easily. Consider mold-resistant paint for the wall and the ceiling for best results.

Change the Fixtures

Most often changing the fixtures like a towel rack, faucets, lighting, etc. can assist to change the looks of your bathroom without requiring you to spend too much. By themselves the items seem ordinary; however, together they can have a major impact.
