Locals and foreign tourists cannot help but admire all the best structures and landmarks all over the city. Some even get their inspirations from the designs of the buildings all over the place. Others also consult an architect Kuala lumpur so they can apply it at home.

If you are planning to visit the city to marvel at the landmarks of Kuala Lumpur, here are the major spots that you must include in your checklist.

Petronas Twin Towers

The Petronas Twin Towers is one of the most recognizable landmarks all over Malaysia. Constructed in 1993 and completed in 1996, this pair of skyscrapers held the title of the tallest building in the world from 1998 to 2004.

However, it lost its title to Taiwan’s Taipei 101. Its total height is 452 meters (1,482 feet). An equally famous sky bridge connects the two buildings and allows tourists to get amazing views of the entire city.

The striking architectural design of these towers put it in the list of places that you must visit in Kuala Lumpur.

Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower

Another tourist-favorite architectural structure in the city is the Menara Kuala Lumpur. It has the reputation of being the seventh-tallest freestanding tower in the world.

The builders and architects in Kuala Lumpur began the first phase of construction in August 1992, while the official inauguration led by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad took place in October 1996.

At the moment, different organizations use the Menara Kuala Lumpur Tower for a variety of broadcasting purposes.

While tourists cannot go inside this establishment, the New Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building is one of the architectural marvels to look at in areas near the country’s capital. State assembly members use it as their meeting place and venue where they hold their debates and pass new laws.

The building has a total height of 27.7 meters and has a total of nine floors. It has a nine-pointed star design while its roofs look like the Malaysian royal umbrella.

Istana Budaya

This building is popularly known for being the cultural arts and theatre hub in Malaysia. While it somehow resembles the famous Sydney Opera House, the design still has a rich Malaysian influence since it looks like one of the village houses in Kampong.

The public can even enter the premises to watch one of the scheduled philharmonic and theatrical shows in the city.

Masjid Kristal (Crystal Mosque)

If you have more time to spend in Malaysia, you can take a 4-hour trip to the Islamic Heritage Park in Kuala Terengganu to visit the breathtaking Crystal Mosque. The builders and architects of this unique mosque used steel and glass to construct the structure.

Because of this, the mosque can become an amazing sight during the early morning. You may also want to visit the mosque before the sun sets to capture a different yet equally exciting vibe.

These Malaysian structures are just some of the unique architectural gems in Kuala Lumpur and beyond. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next construction project, you can visit one of these spots and ask your architect to get some inspirations from these establishments.
