Plumbing and its most basic functions do not really change much.  When we think of plumbing, it is simply the system that provides a connection to our sanitary facilities and water supply.

Over time, people created new innovations and they keep upgrading to improve our way of life and to find sustainable solutions for our planet.

New plumbing innovations are now available in Australia.  And while the old ones still work, these innovations promise to save money and energy for the consumers.

Tankless Water Heaters

Water heaters are one of the most important appliances in our home, but they consume a lot of energy. Tankless water heaters don’t have storage tanks. They heat water instantaneously as the water flows through.

What’s great about these heaters is that they save more space, give you more hot water as it heats based on demand, have a longer lifespan, and provide cleaner water.

Since they don’t have water tanks that take time to heat before use, these heaters can save us a lot on cost and energy.

There are people who are not comfortable switching to tankless heaters because they get intimidated by the upfront costs.  However, these heaters can actually save you a lot in the long run.

Pex Pipes

PEX pipes or polyethylene pipes are flexible plastic pipes that are now being used as alternatives to copper and galvanized piping.

They are cheaply made and possess a cross-linked structure that is dissolution resistant, flexible, and has high tensile strength.

With special fitting, PEX pipes can even be connected to your copper pipes. What’s great about installing them in your home is that it provides clean drinking water, and since it is more affordable and durable, they can save you a lot on maintenance costs.

It actually costs less than half the size of the copper and installs much faster.  They are often used for areas in your home that are hard to access because of their flexibility.

Dual Flush Toilets

You may not appreciate it much but the dual function on your toilet’s flush is actually very efficient.

Your old flush can use a lot of water on one push, but with the dual flush function, you may choose to flush with different amounts of water, saving you on costs.

You may save up to 25,000 gallons of water per year with this simple yet effective mechanism, which is great for the environment.

Smart HVAC System

Control your heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system with your smart HVAC system. The system provides you with a productive and more efficient means of controlling your vents.

By connecting the system to your home Wi-Fi and downloading an app, you may schedule the temperature of your home to save energy and maintain efficiency.

You can heat or cool only specific areas in your home. What’s more, you can manually control it anywhere using your smartphone app; whether you are coming home from the office or getting cozy in bed.

Information is being saved in the cloud which allows you easy access whenever you need it.  Once you have this system installed you will see a significant increase in savings on energy and money.

Smart Irrigation

Do you notice your neighbor’s sprinklers suddenly turn on even if no one is home? They must be using smart irrigation.

A lot of people are going crazy over this new technology.  With smart irrigation, you can control your sprinklers through your mobile device using a smart irrigation control tech. This technology is beneficial for both consumers and the environment.

First, consumers are able to tightly control their irrigation system through their smartphones, where they can set timers and determine what gets watered and when.

Second, they can also control how much water is being used, enabling them to conserve water and save money.  This helps save the environment, as water shortage is becoming a worldwide threat.

Smart irrigation technology is one of the plumbing innovations that has been getting a lot of searches online, which means that people are now more energy and cost-conscious.

If you haven’t installed any of these new innovations, we recommend getting them as soon as you can.

But these are not DIY systems though, so you would need to contact a local plumber Sydney has especially in your area.
