  1. Wind Power

While many people opt for choosing solar panels as their source of renewable energy, wind power comes in as a very strong contender.

Before you set up your wind power, make sure you have enough wind in your area, that you have the proper zoning requirements, and that you know what your return on investment is going to be.

You should also check to see if there are any incentives for installing a wind system.

  1. Hydroelectric Power

Hydroelectricity is power electricity made from water. The electricity isn’t made from the water itself, but from the kinetic energy in the moving water.

Dams can be used to generate massive amounts of electricity to power the homes around it.

When water is dammed, it can drain slowly through water turbines and this is what generates energy.

  1. Ocean Power

There are different forms of renewable energy that the ocean can give us. Some of the types of ocean power you can look into are tidal energy, wave energy, and ocean thermal energy conversion.

Ocean power is similar to hydroelectric power, but one is with the ocean and one is with other sources of water.

  1. Biomass

Biomass is a renewable source of energy because it comes from plants and animals. Biomass has stored energy that comes from the sun.

When you burn biomass, the chemical energy in biomass is released as heat.

Solid biomass can be burned directly to produce heat like burning a log in the fireplace.

Biomass can also be converted into gas or liquid as well, which can then be burned to turn it into energy.

  1. Geothermal Energy

Geothermal energy is the energy that comes from the earth. It’s not difficult to tap into geothermal energy with the use of heat pumps.

Geothermal energy is a great source because there is so much of it.

Choosing the Right Energy for You

There are a lot of options available to you in terms of energy, but you have to find the one that is going to work best for you.

Look at which options are most popular in your area, which one is the most cost-effective and other things that are important to you.

Energy Options of the Future

Now you know more about the different energy options available. You can continue to create an environmentally and wallet-friendly home.
