Keep on reading to know what are some essential tips and tricks that will help you use your pressure washer like a pro.

Let’s get started:

Difference Between Electric and Gas Pressure Washer: Which is Better?

Both types of pressure washers work on the same pattern. Both use a pump that increases the pressure of water running through an attached hose.

Yet electric pressure washer is powered up by electricity whereas gas one uses gasoline as its power source.

Gas Pressure Washer

Gas pressure washers have higher PSI and GPM and work more efficiently to erase tough stains and grime. But you are required to change oil frequently in a gas pressure washer.

Then this version of a pressure washer is not eco-friendly since it is louder in operation and creates emissions. So they are perfect to use for outdoor washing chores.

If you want to buy a budget pressure washer for your home then I will recommend getting a best pressure washer under 300 dollars because It will have some good features as compared to cheaper ones.

Electric Pressure Washer

Unlike its gasoline counterpart, an electric power washer needs a power outlet to work. Although they are more silent yet they offer you a restricted amount of pressure washing.

Doing a washing job with an electric pressure washer requires more time to finish the job. Yet you don’t need to change oil for an electric pressure washer and hence no maintenance is needed.

Types of Pressure Washer

Once you have known the two major types of a pressure washer, you need to know the right size of the engine.

Since the engine is the heart of a machine so it is a pressure washer.

The main categories of pressure washer engines are:

Light Duty

For household washing needs, a light-duty pressure washer that produces 2,00PSI is an ideal choice.

Medium Duty

This type of engine is capable of creating 2,000-3,000 PSI and can wash the home exterior perfectly.

Heavy Duty

It creates a pressure level that lies between 3,000-3,300 PSI and can wash the grime and stains in no time.

Professional Duty

Professional duty pressure washer creates a pressure level higher than 3,300 and is used for washing extensive washing projects.

Choosing the Right Nozzle

After selecting the right power for your pressure washer, you must choose the perfect nozzle for your pressure washing needs.

A right nozzle will determine the angle of the water stream. A nozzle that creates a narrow water stream is better than a large water stream.

You can also use attachments like a detergent reservoir or pressure washing broom to perform a cleaning task more effectively.

How to use a Pressure Washer

It is tricky to use a pressure washer otherwise the results can converse. Follow these tips to ensure the job is done perfectly.

  • Pressure washers are a louder and powerful tool. So use eye protection and hearing protection for your eyes and ear safety.
  • Hold the pressure washer wand firmly in both hands until you gain full command overusing it. Else the wand can fly off from your hands because of water pressure.
  • Restore a good connection between the spray tip and surface area to avoid damaging the surface.
  • Use the pressure washer wand up and down in an even motion to clean the surface.
  • If you are pressure washing a concrete surface, first clean the surface before you start.
  • For tough oil stains, you must scrub the stains beforehand for more accurate cleaning results.
  • Let the surface get dry completely before you apply a sealing coat.

Our Verdict

Pressure washing means cleaning efficiently within very less time. But if you have a wide home exterior, the job may take a while longer. With proper implications, you are bound to hit the target. So don’t rush into things and take time to pressure washing to clean your home exterior properly.
