Spring cleaning is an essential process to allow you to take time each year to clean out and refresh your home.

Spring is the ideal time because you’ve been pent up inside for the winter months, but now you can open your windows and let in some fresh air.

If it is your first time spring cleaning, you may feel overwhelmed by the idea.

However, it is always a good idea to clean your home top to bottom at least once a year.

Some of the potential benefits include reduced stress, reduced clutter, increased creativity, and an overall lift in your spirits. It will improve your mental health and enable better sleep.

Here are five tips to get you started if this is your first time spring cleaning.

1. Get the Right Frame of Mind

5 Tips for Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning may be your favorite or most hated time, depending on how you approach the situation.

On the one hand, it is a lot of work, but on the other hand, you will feel so much better when your home is clean and in order.

If large tasks make you feel stressed or give you anxiety, one solution is to start with one of the best full-spectrum CBD oil products.

CBD has been proven effective in helping people handle stress and feelings of anxiousness, among other health issues.

The full-spectrum CBD oil provides the right potency and dosage of cannabinoids in a dropper.

Coming from the cannabis plant, the cannabinoid is a natural element that is turned into CBD products, including soft gels, Cbd nasal inhaler, edibles, gummies, creams, tinctures, CBD oil, and capsules.

Some may be hesitant to try CBD oil due to a lack of understanding. While it comes from the same plant, CBD does not contain THC or additional compounds. They test for the presence of THC to ensure the quality of the product.

2. Purge Everything That Isn’t Useful or Doesn’t Bring You, Joy

Purge Everything That Isn't Useful or Doesn't Bring You, Joy

One of the joys of spring cleaning is getting rid of things you don’t need or want.

These are the things creating clutter in your home that you may be holding on to for random reasons or you haven’t had the chance to get rid of yet.

Now is the time to purge your home of everything you don’t want or need. You can create pleasant open spaces in your home, reducing stress and making cleaning easier.

3. Start with the Big Stuff

Start with the Big Stuff

The big stuff may include moving furniture, painting a room, or installing new lights.

These are tasks that will freshen up your space but will cause a mess at first. You always want to do the big things first, so you aren’t recleaning areas of your house.

The best approach is to start with a master to-do list of everything you want to be done during spring cleaning.

Then, prioritize your list based on what makes the most sense. For example, you don’t want to dust your ceiling fan after mopping the floor because then you’ll have to mop the floor again.

Likewise, you can’t clean the laundry room floor until all the laundry is caught up.

4. Don’t Forget Preventative Maintenance

Don't Forget Preventative Maintenance

Spring cleaning is the perfect time to schedule preventative maintenance. Here are a couple of reasons you can’t afford to miss spring HVAC maintenance.

First, preventative maintenance will ensure your HVAC system is always running as efficiently as possible.

Simple tasks like cleaning the system and changing filters will increase its efficiency and lower your monthly energy bills.

Second, annual maintenance will allow the technician to spot problems before they become an emergency call.

Having to call when your air conditioner goes out will result in a much higher repair bill than a scheduled HVAC maintenance call.

5. Freshen Things Up

Once your house is purged, the big stuff is done, and the maintenance is complete, you can finish up with the little things that smooth everything out.

This may include wiping down the countertops, cleaning the sink, and vacuuming the bedrooms.

It may include replacing your air fresheners and spraying fabric refresher on the furniture to give everything a fresh and comforting smell and feel.

A great option at this point is to choose new scents so that they will be more noticeable.

You may also decide to freshen up with some new towels or switch to summer sheets.
