7 Amazing Tips & Tricks for Building Your Automate Smart Home

Having an automated smart home will aid you in standing out from the crowd. There are many ways of turning your building into a smart home; this can be done either by giving your living home a facelift or building a new home from scratch.  Here are 7 amazing tips and tricks for building your automate smart home:

Smart Lighting

Studies show that it is better to install smart light switches than smart light bulbs. Installing a smart light bulb like llumi, LIFX, Philips Hue etc will make the bulb to work. If the bulb has no power flowing in it, it will be difficult to work, it can’t be turned on. Thus, replacing a light bulb is less expensive than pulling new wiring or buying new dimmer or fixture.

You can turn the lighting of your room on or off with a touch of the button, not just one light. Motion sensors in certain strategic areas can give a signal to the automation system to turn the lights off if no one is in the room for a period of time.

Smart Security

Installing smart security features in your home will help you to know what is happening in your home, and who is at the door or entrance of your home. The devices you use must be of high quality with latest security patches. And they must be locked with passwords and make sure you don’t give your password to someone.

Smart Music

Stream music to all the rooms in your home, and place a dedicated keypad on each of them. Ensure you can access all the music in your home with touch screens, keypads, and smartphone. You can set the music to any volume of your choice, but it is important you set them at moderate volumes so that even visitors can listen to it while discussing with you in your house without feeling disturbed.

Entertaining Automation

Put entertaining automation in your home by putting microphones in your home-audio system, so that visitors can broadcast their names from the door, and you will know who is out there waiting for you.

Your microphone can also enable you to discuss or communicate with virtually anyone in any part of the house. You can use your iPad to inform the refrigerator that you are out of ice, and then instruct it to produce more.

Video/home Theater Automation

With a remote finder, you can actually lock your home’s rear doors and front doors if you are indoors watching a movie. You can also instruct it to dim the lights when you press play, and bring the light up by 30% if you press pause. More so, you can program your TV to turn to your preferred channel when you come back from work.

Luxurious Automation Ideas for Daily Life

With a touch of the button, you can switch on or off all the electrical or scientific devices in your home.

You can also program lights in your house to turn on between 4 am till 7:30 am, and set it to automatically turn off by 7:30 am when you must have left for work, unless otherwise stated, and turn on by 6 pm when you arrive from work, and goes off by 11 pm when you must have gone to bed.

Alternatively, you can set it not to turn off completely but to dim by 70% when it is not actively used. With this, you can save money you spend on energy.

Daily Alerts and Notifications

Try and install card access contacts in your mailbox, so that you will be alerted whenever you receive an email.

You can program your home system that whenever an email comes or text messages come to your smart devices, the LED’s in your home will turn red or green.

You will get notifications anytime your kids come back from school or if anything is happening in your home even in your absence.
