  • Pottery

A flowerpot, pen pot, or even an incense holder may be sculpted in pottery, and it’s a lot of fun. In addition, it aids in the development of hand-eye coordination.

  • Polymer clay

As a result of its popularity, polymer clay has become one of the most indulging crafts on social networking websites.  Social media influencers and Instagrammers are a delight to weave polymer clay colors into gorgeous patterns and swirling forms.

Jewellery, sculptures, boxes, and pots may all be made from this material. As a result, you may start making your homemade jewellery for a fraction of the cost of buying it at a store.

  • Painting

In 2020 people were compelled to spend a lot of time indoors, which allowed them to revive old interests. It wasn’t just us who had rediscovered the thrill of painting as the sales of paint and art supplies skyrocketed. Anyone with a paintbrush and a little creativity can paint, according to many.

  • Embroidery

By 2021, people predicted that textured embroidery would be the most popular craft fad. With various beads and materials, the stitching has taken on a 3D appearance, which has resulted in a lot of trial and error.

When roving is used to provide movement to embroidery hoops and blur the borders between different crafts, people are enamored with the process.

  • Weaving

Ancient people also like weaving using wool, hemp, bamboo yarn, and other materials. Up to this day, many people weave as a hobby, especially the stay-at-home mothers who weave garments for their babies. During weekends, many people also prefer to do crafts or watch television all day to pause from the activities in the digital world.

But how did the ancient people weave? Egyptians during the First Dynasty, from the 3100 to 2800 Before Common Era (BCE), weaved cloth using brown thread. Chinese people also have a major influence in the textile industry even up to this day. The weaving techniques they popularized include silk tapestry or “kesi”, damasks, gauze, and compound warp-faced and weft-faced weaves. Pictorial textiles were woven using the kesi technique to create magnificent representational effects.

Modern-day people can avail themselves of weaving materials and tools online, such as looms. You can find many video tutorials and blogs showing how to weave different fabrics with beautiful design patterns. During the pandemic, many people discovered weaving as a newfound hobby, diverting their attention to more productive activities.

Alternatives to weaving include crocheting, cross-stitching, and knitting. Regardless of what fabric-related craft you prefer, you can choose one that best suits your mood and personality and one that you will enjoy doing.

  • Tie and dye

It is not the only item that has been affected by the decade of the 1990s – there are many, and it’s just going to grow more popular in coming years.

Over the past several years, natural dyes have replaced artificial dyes, and tie-dying has been promoted as a great way to recycle old or damaged clothing.

In recent years, people have been more interested in the art of ice dying, which involves placing ice on top of a design and waiting for it to melt, to produce a swerve-like motion.

There will be many more trends in art and craft in 2021, so keep an eye out for them, but these are some of the fascinating ones to watch out for. Also, they’re all extremely reasonably priced. As a result, have fun with at least a couple of them.
