Planning a holiday requires a lot of thought. You need to make some big decisions to ensure you have the best time possible.

For example, will you go on an adventure trip packed with thrilling activities like skiing or mountain climbing? Or does the thought of a relaxing summer retreat by the beach tempt you more?

Amid making all of these decisions, you must also consider where you stay. This part matters. You might be tempted to save your accommodation budget by staying in a cheap hotel (or hostel), but you might regret that decision before long.

Even if you plan on spending most of your time seeking adventure in the local area, a nice, cozy bed and comfortable accommodation still matter – here is why.

It Might Become Your Home Away from Home

Exploring lots of different places is fun, but there’s something comforting about having a location you go back to time and time again. A good hotel or villa will keep you coming back for more, making it your home away from home.

Using the same accommodation every time doesn’t have to be dull – especially if you choose an exciting location. There are even villas for sale in Dubai that you could snap up.

Somewhere like Dubai will never get old; by owning property there, you will always be in the middle of the action.

When you seriously need a getaway, you can travel to the villa and do whatever you want with your time without having to book and pay for hotels every time you want a vacation.

In Dubai, that could mean anything – shopping, eating, dancing, adventuring, or simply soaking up the culture. Then, you’ll have a luxury home to return to at the end of the day, one that’s all yours.

Rest Days Are Important

Most people need at least one rest day per holiday. You might be tempted to cram your week or two away with endless activities, but that will only burn you out before long.

A rest day can be refreshing – it allows you to rest your mind and body while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. However, you can only truly enjoy that if you’ve paid for high-quality accommodation.

With a nice hotel or villa, your rest days won’t feel like you’re missing out, as you’ll be in a pleasant environment – perhaps with a pool, bar, spa, or room service.

Getting a Good Night of Sleep Changes Your Mood

Sure, you might decide to spend most of your time outside of the hotel room, but you still need a place to stay. Paying for the cheapest hotel might become your biggest regret when you realize you can’t get a good night of sleep.

Not only will it affect you during the night, but a poor night of sleep will carry over into the next day, making you feel grouchy. No one wants to feel like that while they’re on vacation! At the very least, ensure the bed you stay in is comfortable enough for a long, refreshing night of sleep.

Good Stays Equals Quality Food

The chances are you won’t be eating in fine-dining restaurants every night. In fact, there might be a couple of nights during the trip where all you want to do – after a long day of walking on the beach or perusing boutique shops – is head back to your hotel and enjoy whatever food they put in front of you.

The problem is, if you choose the cheapest hotel imaginable, you might not enjoy the food – some lower-end hotels don’t even have a restaurant on site.

On the other hand, a great hotel means your meals will always be delicious and available, which is what you deserve while on holiday!

Convenience Matters

If your only criteria for accommodation is cheap, you’re probably doing it wrong – especially when it comes to convenience.

While you might save money on the hotel by staying further away from the city (or the beach), you will end up paying more for taxis and public transport.

You might as well pay for a better hotel in a more convenient location and have everything on your doorstep! You’ll have more time to soak up the surroundings this way, too.

A Good Hotel Provides Support

Having someone to assist you while you’re in another country goes a long way. Whether you’ve lost your key or you need guidance on the best restaurant for local cuisine, a quality hotel can help you there.

However, the cheapest one likely won’t have the same amount of time or level of service to assist you.

You’ll Feel Truly Relaxed

Vacations are a chance to relax. Even on an adventure holiday, you still need to unwind. Having a good place to stay allows for that, and it makes all the difference.

It’s a chance to treat yourself, so don’t skimp on accommodation – instead, make sure your place to sleep at the end of the day is somewhere you’re more than happy to go back to.

Hotel vs. BnB vs. Villa: Which Is Best?

You now know how important it is to find a great place to stay during your trip. The question is, do you book a hotel, BnB, or a villa? Each has its pros and cons.

A hotel is an obvious choice for many people – hotels often have room services, bars, restaurants, pools, spas, and comfortable beds, depending on the star rating.

Choose a hotel if you don’t want to think about anything while you’re away, as the hotel staff can sort most things out for you, whether that’s breakfast, laundry, a massage, or room cleaning.

In contrast, a BnB is a good, budget-friendly option. You can often find a quality BnB for a reasonable price without compromising a comfortable bed at night. Although, a BnB may have fewer facilities and services than a full-scale hotel.

If you want to experience a more private home away from home vacation, a villa is undeniably the best option. It’s a way to enjoy a holiday with full privacy and luxury.

Of course, villas come in all shapes and sizes. You’ll find ones with pools, balconies, five bedrooms, one bedroom, and everything in between. That also means you’ll likely find one within your budget.

Whichever type of accommodation you choose, make sure it’s a place you’re thrilled to stay at – it’ll make the getaway much more enjoyable and memorable (for all the right reasons!).
