Office Interiors: Tips to Upgrade the Reception Area

The reception sets the standard for the company. If the reception is not well decorated, it could negatively affect your business. If you are looking for décor tips, you are at the right place. Continue reading this article to learn valuable office-décor tips.

Keep It Visually Clean

The reception area is most likely busier than other parts of the building, with many people coming and going at a time. Therefore, the area can easily get disorganized. In addition, it can look messier if the space is narrow and blocked with unnecessary décor. Therefore, the goal should be to keep the area visually clean.

  • Some say there’s no such thing as too many plants, but in reality, it is quite the opposite, especially for an indoor space. At times people overdo the greenery at the reception space. You see green plants and flower decorations everywhere. You can’t freely move around in such a space.
  • Another way to ensure cleanliness is by upgrading the light in the reception area. Light plays a major role in making a place look clean and inviting. If possible, use natural light during the day to make the area look spacious. At night, the reception hall should be well-lit with accent lighting.

Install New Gadgets

Out with the old and in with the new; that is the key to success. Therefore, the reception area should reflect modern gadgets instead of old books and out-of-date copies.

For example, these days, most offices have automatic sign-in systems installed near the doors. These systems record the timing without hassle. So, the reception area is less crowded, with employees and guests coming in and going out.

Create an Ambiance

People come and wait at the reception area. So, the furniture plays an important aspect in boosting the aesthetic of the reception. The furniture also helps create an atmosphere. There are various shops online where you can check out office furniture that will suit the space.

You may click here to browse office furniture and luxury seating options. You will also find the front desks, chairs, and more online. Make sure the furniture looks good and is comfortable to sit on.

  • Playing soft music can be a soothing experience for the guests who wait at the reception. At times, music can be a major distraction also.

So, it depends upon the mood of the establishment to play music. For example, if it is an office reception, no music will likely be played. On the other hand, if it is a hotel by the beach, soft music in the reception is welcomed.

  • Instead of displaying dated magazines, go for coffee table books. Most reception hotels have magazines on the table for the guests to read. But the problem with magazines is they get old soon. Instead, pick interesting coffee table books and keep them on the table for the readers.
