Top 3 Functions of a Water Cooler | Discussions and Benefits

Nowadays, there are various water coolers on the market. They differ in many things, but basically, they all do the same.

In this article, we will talk about the top three functions of water coolers and explain in detail why you should get one. Please read more about water coolers at Water Filters Advisor.

Top 3 Functions of a Water Cooler

Cold Water on the Go

This is the most significant and the most important function of a water cooler. Once you put a dispenser for the first time, all you need to do is wait for 20-30 mins. After that, you will have 5-10 gallons of cold water to consume on the go.

The good thing is that you have to wait 20-30 mins only the first time you use the water cooler. When the dispenser gets empty, you need to simply replace it and you will have the cold water immediately.

It’s because water coolers have their own storage with cold water, which is, due to pressure, available as soon as you install a new dispenser.

It directly helps you stay hydrated on hot summer days. If you don’t have a water cooler, you would have to refrigerate at least a few bottles every day. Besides, it would take much more time for the water to cool, while consuming much space.

Instant Coffee and Tea

If you often drink coffee or tea, or own a big office, acquiring a water cooler (dispenser) can be crucial. It provides instant boiling water, which allows you to instantly get your dose of coffee or tea.

You must have an office water dispenser if you frequently drink coffee or tea or if you have a large office. It provides instant boiling water, which allows you to instantly get your dose of coffee or tea.

Boiling water can also be useful for making a snack in the office. For example, if you want to boil pasta or potatoes super quickly, or even make a soup, it’s a perfect way to do it.

The best thing is, if you only need cold water, you can turn off the heater, and thus prevent increased electricity bills. It allows you to have only hot or only cold water if you prefer.

Saves Money and Space Right Away

No matter how much water you drink daily, drinking bottled water is much more expensive. The more you drink from the water cooler, the more you save – it’s not magic, it’s simple math. When you calculate the expenses at the end of the month, you will be amazed.

Also, it saves you lots of precious space. Imagine how much space would it take to store 5-10 gallons of bottled water in the fridge. When it comes to the water cooler, you only need to buy a vertical dispenser.

Horizontal space is always more valuable than vertical, and the dispenser won’t interfere with any objects or home appliances.

Please Inspect for Leaks

You should always look over your unit for water dripping or leakage. It’s a rare case of a water cooler leaking, but it could cause lots of damage to your floors and lead to wood rotting. If there is too much wood rotting, then it could lead to termite damage, which we should prevent at all times.

Other Benefits of Water Coolers

The first thing that we should mention is that most water coolers are amazingly simple to install. There is no plumbing or DIY work. You simply need to put it in the right location and connect it to the power source.

Then, simply turn on the switches for hot and/or cold water, and that’s it. Your water cooler is ready to use!

Besides, the cooling systems of these devices are completely ecological. Instead of thermoelectrical cooling, water coolers use special gas, which is completely safe for both you and the environment. Also, the storage for hot water is made of stainless steel, which makes it very durable.

If you own a water cooler, another thing that you don’t have to worry about is water protection. No matter how long you use the water from a dispenser, it won’t get contaminated.

Many water coolers have special air filters that prevent bacteria and dust from reaching the water. They also have a special valve for easy and safe usage.

Another great thing about water coolers is that they are fully portable. You can install them literally anywhere you want, as long as you have a power supply nearby. No matter if it’s the living room, kitchen, or bedroom, it’s the right location to place the water cooler.

How do Water Coolers Work?

To make things more clear, let’s talk about how water coolers actually work. The most popular type of water cooler is the bottle-fed water dispenser. It has inverted water storage which sits on top of the unit, usually with 5-10 gallons capacity.

When the water storage (bottle, dispenser) is placed on top of the unit, it gets punctured by the part known as the “spike”. Basically, the bottle is sealed until you place it in the right position, so you don’t have to worry about the water leaking all around the room if you don’t place it on the first try.

Every cooler has a valve on the inside, which prevents the water from the dispenser from flooding the unit. The water inside the cooler is then fed into a special reservoir, which is then cooled by a refrigerant. It circulates through the pipes which are very close to the reservoir.

A refrigerator is a medium that switches its form between liquid and gas as it moves through the pipes. When the refrigerant is in the form of a gas, it absorbs the heat right away.

Therefore, it leaves cool water that is available in a very short time. The heat then leaves the water cooler, which is the end of the cooling process.

A Few Words More

Investing in a water cooler will definitely pay off. Not a few months or years later, but literally in a few days.

Besides saving you money, it also provides hot and cold water on the go and saves valuable space. It’s an excellent investment, especially if you live in a hot area, or in an area where the water is contaminated.
