Moving into a new place can be daunting; however, keep reading to find out how we are here to make the ordeal as comfortable as ever for you.

Murfreesboro is not only the largest suburb of Nashville but the fastest growing town in Tennessee since the 1990s. This means your decision to buy a house there is a great one. The city has something for everyone in your family, whether the youth or the elderly.

5 Different Types of Homes You Can Buy

First of all, we have listed the five main types of homes you can buy in Murfreesboro TN so that it helps narrow down your options.

1.  Single-Family Residence

This should be your top choice if you want closets, a basement, and an attic. In single-family residences, you will have more control over your maintenance and be able to customize surrounding structures. If you choose this, you will also get some privacy from your neighbors.

2. Co-Ops

This is an opportunity for you to invest in a company that owns an apartment complex! You will need to pay a maintenance cost for the apartment you lease every month, though. You may also control how the buildings’ affairs are administered as a shareholder.

3. Multi-Family Houses

Do you want to live close to your extended family but not spend all day together? A multi-family house contains several separate homes.

You will probably have to share a yard and the laundry area with your neighbors. If the property is yours, rent will make up for the mortgage’s cost.

4. Brand-New Houses

Who doesn’t like the fresh look of a newly built house? As the city continually grows, there has been a surge in new houses, and you won’t run out of options! In fact, in the first five months of 2022 alone, 989 building permits were given out.

5. Apartments: Townhouses and Condos

If you want facilities like dog parks, gyms, and swimming pools, don’t hesitate to buy a townhouse. You’ll have to pay a monthly maintenance fee to the homeowner’s association. A garage and a small yard will most often come with your townhome.

Condos are excellent if you want the feel of a single home on a budget. Many condominium organizations will organize opportunities for your neighbors to gather and socialize.

You will also have to pay a monthly fee to the condo association. Condos often have pools, dog parks, and gyms too.

How The Weather Is

In summer, the average daily temperature is 81°F. While in winter, it is usually around 56°F. You should plan to bring out your warmest clothes in January, the coolest month of the entire year. However, 208 out of 365 days will be sunny, so your flowy, light clothes won’t ever feel left out.

Jobs Available

Most people in the city work in Sales. Office & Administrative Support jobs have the second-highest number of workers. Architects and Engineers are paid the highest, on the other hand.

If you’re in the Healthcare and Social Assistance industry, you will likely find a good job there. There is something for people of every level and skill set.

Amenities

You can report potholes to the Street Department. They will also look after other necessary street repairs and rake up your leaves.

There are reliable utility service providers throughout the city, such as Atmos Energy and Comcast. You can also get your pet vaccinated for free at PAWS.

Spending Your Free Time

If you enjoy reading, Linebaugh Public Library is your place to go. There are numerous restaurants and shops to stroll around and take peaks during the weekend. You could take your kids to Boro Beach for a fun day at a waterpark.

There are spots to swim, play golf, or tennis if that’s more up your alley. Take a walk down the Murfreesboro trail system for the perfect evening stroll. It has impeccable views and gives you the chance to unwind among nature. If your kid is into theater and acting, it will be worth your time to check out Perform Murfreesboro.

Moving Around Murfreesboro: Transportation

You can use the transit buses to move throughout the city. Every Murfreesboro Transit bus is wheelchair accessible. The city also takes its dwellers’ feedback seriously and makes improvements based on them. Taxis and cars are often popular choices to maneuver in the area.

Facilities For Senior Citizens

You will find many senior homes in the city. The St. Clair Senior Center is always open and organizes various activities throughout the year. People over 60 can gather with other adults and build upon skills and interests.

This helps them not only to create bonds but also to nurture their involvement in the community. The fun and enjoyment that comes alongside is the cherry on top.

Looking After the Environment

A big part of caring about the earth and ensuring your home is managing waste efficiently. The city has the option of Recycling at the Convenience Center. Moreover, oil-based paint is collected by Rutherford County Solid Waste if you call them and schedule a time.

Rutherford County’s collection site recycles electronics on specific days of the week. During annual collection, you can also get rid of pesticides, fluorescent light bulbs, etc.

To Sum, it All Up

We’re sure you are now on your toes for the day you drive down to your new house. We are excited about this big move to a city you’ll soon call home.

While we have listed all you have to know about the city, we missed one crucial thing. It’s something you’ll definitely not get to do after moving to Murfreesboro; that is, regret your decision!
