Want to know how to make spring cleaning easier? Keep reading to find out about our spring cleaning hacks.

Clean Room by Room

It can feel overwhelming to think about spring cleaning your entire home. That’s why it’s easier to do it room by room. Focus on one room at a time. Think about what areas in that room need the most attention, and start there.

This is an effective way to deep clean your space. It can make the task more enjoyable, keep you focused, and help you to do a thorough job.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the idea of spring cleaning your home, you can always contact a maid service to help.

Work From Top to Bottom

When you’re cleaning each room, work from the top down to the bottom. This means starting with the ceiling and finishing with the floor.

This technique forces dirt and debris downwards. It means that you don’t have to waste time and energy by repeatedly wiping, dusting, and vacuuming the same areas.

Start by getting rid of any cobwebs or dust on your ceiling and fans. Dust or wipe your walls, furniture, and other items in the room, starting with the highest things first. Then finish by wiping or vacuuming the floor.

Clear the Clutter

Studies show that a disorganized home can make you feel more stressed. Your brain thinks that there is work to do. That’s why spring is the perfect time to clear the clutter in your home.

In each room that you’re working on, sort your belongings into four different categories. These are things to go into the trash, give away, put into storage, or keep in the room.

Then move things straight away. If you’ve decided to put something in the trash, do it. If you’ve decided to put something into storage, put it in there or put it into a box for storage.

This will help you feel like you are achieving and progressing. It will also help you to make decisions more quickly and get the job done.

Cut Down on Cleaning Products

Don’t create more clutter with your cleaning products. You don’t need many to keep your home clean and fresh.

Invest in an all-purpose cleaner that can be used in most areas of your home. This can be used on most surfaces and in most rooms. You can then purchase any specialty products if you need them.

Get Some Fresh Air

Spring cleaning is all about refreshing your home and your life. Being outdoors in the fresh air increases energy levels by 90%. Bring that fresh air into your home. Now that the weather is warmer, there is an easy way to do this.

Leave as many windows open for a few hours. This helps to get rid of the stagnant air in your home and replace it with fresh and rejuvenating air.

Include Seasonal Chores

Many chores need to be done in specific seasons. There will be tasks that you need to do, to prepare for the warmer weather. Include these in your spring cleaning.

This can include outdoor chores like cleaning the patio, grill, and outside of the windows. It’s easier to clean windows on a cloudy day. If it’s too hot and the windows are too warm, the cleaning product will leave streaks.

Your spring cleaning can also include storing winter clothes, bedding, and home décor. Pull out your summer clothes, lighter bedding, and spring items are your home. These little changes can make your space feel interesting and refreshed.

Get Everyone Involved

Get everyone in your home involved in the spring cleaning. This makes the job easier and means everyone is more committed to keeping things tidy, clean, and organized after you’ve finished.

You can assign chores to everyone, and make it their responsibility to complete. If they know you’re trusting and relying on them, they’re more likely to get it done.

To make it more fun, you could race each other to see who finishes first. You could also throw on some music to make it more fun.

You can even agree on a household reward once the spring cleaning is done. This will motivate everyone to do a good job and finish as quickly as possible.
