New Home Have a Big Backyard? You’ll Want These 3 Tools

If your new residence is a condo or town-home, or you only have a small piece of land, that might not be a big deal. However, if you find yourself with a rather significant amount of acreage, you’re going to need to use some of your financial resources for maintaining it.

In order to do just that, you’re going to need to invest in some quality tools. Here are three you should definitely consider looking into.

A Reliable Chainsaw

Large yards often come with their share of natural foliage. That means you are going to have plenty of trees. And, trees have lots of branches.

While having a large yard full of scenic trees is great, they will need to be taken care of from time to time. Branches need to be trimmed and dying trees need to be felled. Plus, if any are near your house, their branches will need to be pruned regularly to keep them from damaging your roof.

The best tool for this job is a very reliable chainsaw. You’ll probably want a gas powered one so you won’t be constrained by the range of a power cord on the electric models. You can also pick up an axe just in case you have a problem with your chainsaw.

An Efficient Log Splitter

Cutting down trees and removing branches is one thing. But, then you have to worry about what to do with them.

Small branches are easy enough to move and dispose of, but larger ones along with entire trunks of felled trees can be a serious hassle. While you should have a chainsaw already to help break them down even further, there is a way to really speed things up.

An amazing tool for quickly chewing up trees and making them into smaller useful pieces is a high-quality log splitter. The make hydraulic, electric, and gas powered ones. The gas-powered option is great when you are working outdoors, thus perfect for you and your big backyard.

While you might be able to get away with just a chainsaw if you are on a serious budget if you have the money you will be very satisfied with what an electric log splitter does for you in terms of saving you time and saving you a lot of hard work.

A Comfortable Sitting Mower

Dealing with trees and logs is one thing, but when you have a large yard, what you have more than anything is a whole lot of grass. Sure, a push mower will do the job. But, it will be doing that job very slowly.

When you have that much yard, you’ll be doing a lot of walking if you don’t opt for a sitting mower. It’s almost masochistic if you don’t do so.

The two main things to consider when choosing the right type of mower for you are how wide of a deck it has and whether or not you need a zero turn one. The wider the deck, the more grass you can cut, which means you will spend less time whenever you mow your lawn. If you have a lot of trees and tree stumps, a zero turn mower will allow you to get closer and manoeuvre around them more easily.

The more features you want the pricier they get, so try to get the best mower for your particular property.

In Conclusion

Buying a new home is exciting. And, buying a home with a lot of scenic acreages is a very special part of your life. But, you don’t want to make the mistake of forgetting about how you’re going to take care of all that land.

Large yards have grass, trees, fallen branches, and fallen leaves in autumn. They all need to be taken care of. Sure, you can use manual tools like an axe and a push mower. But, if you have the resources and value your time, the three tools listed above are the way to go.
